As other posts have describe there is a flaw: "This seemed like a nice product. However, the stud attaching the lamp holder to the bracket spins in its base, making it impossible to tighten. As a result, the lamp would not maintain a horizontal position. This would undoubtedly worsen with use"
The stands are great and for the price the lights are as well. If you go to Lowe's $2.50 and buy "Loctite Super Glue Gel" .14oz it will fix the problem. Remember you have to buy the "Loctite Super Glue GEL" they sell it without the gel so you must get the GEL only! This is the best super glue/strongest gel anywhere. You don't have to unscrew or take anything off. Just make sure the light bulb is out when you put the bead of gel on the inside. Very carefully put a little bead on the inside nut/screw as well as a small bead around the screw on the outside. Let dry for a few hours. You will have your horizontal light and you can move the stand up or down as desired. Sounds crazy? Yes, it but it works. I didn't believe it until my son brought over a little bottle for me to try. No, I don't work for "Loctite" but be advised DO NOT GET ANY GEL ON YOUR FINGERS OR YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CALL IT SUPERGLUE". This is proof you can have too much of a good thing! I had gotten a small bead on my finger tip (about the size of a pin head) and when I wiped it off with a hand towel guess what? Yep, it stuck my finger like cement to the hand towel. Took the top layer of skin off my finger. The good news? The skin is growing back. The lamps work just fine for my light box photography. I would have to pay double to get another pair of stands without the problem I had with these. A $3.00 fix was worth it once my finger tip healed :-) Everything else about the stands are great and it is hard to believe this obvious defect wasn't corrected at the factory! Maybe that's why they priced them so low.
