I needed to install a Life Alert system for my ageing Mother with health issues who lives alone. Unfortunately where there were phone jacks there wasn't power and where there was power no phone jacks and I needed both. I installed the Easy Jack 2 base in her bedroom and the Alarm unit in the family room with the remote Easy Jack 2. It worked perfectly first try out of the box and saved me an expensive rewireing project to make the alarm work. I purchased this because I was tired of getting the $5 per month fee from Dish Network for not having my receivers hooked up to a phone line. I live in an older house, with only two working phone jacks, neither of which are located in the rooms where my Dish network receivers are located. So- I purchased these to fill the gap.
They work great. They DO NOT interfere with my AT&T DSL service, either - that was something I was originally concerned about.

I have only had for a month, but so far so good! I received it quickly and it was easy to set up. I am a female and did it myself!(did not have to wait for my husband to do it.)Instructions were easy to follow and only took about 10 minutes. I bought it for my dish for continuous phone line connection and works great, as long as the green light has been on. It turned red once and the screen on the tv alerted me to this. After being hounded by my satellite company to connect all my DISH receivers, I decided to give this product a go based on price and good reviews here. As promoted, it worked right out of the box and truly couldn't be easier solution for providing data connection where no wiring exists. Only caveat for me was my DSL would not work until I installed a filter between the base unit and my wall connection. I purchased the Easy Jack 2 (after some degree of online research) to meet the requirement for a "land line" telephone connection for the receiver unit. Hookup was totally easy and the connection seems every bit as strong as a hardwire connection. I'm 100% satisfied. Since there are no moving parts and it will not get plugged, unplugged, moved to a different outlet, dropped, etc, it seems that it will last a long time. It does everything I wanted from it.
