Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of NAVGEAR Universal Dash MountCustomer Review: Not For Verizon Droid Owners Summary: 3 Stars
The NAVGEAR mount won't adequately support a Verizon Droid. The Droid is a heavy device and with it's window mount even heavier. The NAVGEAR mount only has three legs and there's no way the legs can be positioned on the dash without tipping over when the vehicle starts up from a stop or in a turn. If this mount had four legs and were heavier like the similar Garmin mount (better friction than the NAVGEAR and works great with our Garmin Nuvi 660) it would probably be ok. I'm sure it's a fine mount for lighter GPS units with shorter mounting arms.
Customer Review: awesome Summary: 5 Stars
I have a 2007 Honda Civic. My dashboard is very odd and doesn't really allow any place to use the suction cup on my Garmin GPS. This fits snugly on a corner of my dash right next to my speedometer. Stays in place very well. Bean bag is pretty heavy and the bottom is made of some sort of high friction material and it doesn't move around at all, even when making sharp turns. It's not too big and bulky and it works well with the garmin suction cups (although the suction cups are bad and sometimes cause it to unstick to this mount) Great product.
Customer Review: Dash mounts are great! Summary: 5 Stars
If you've never used a dash mount, you are missing out on a nice accessory. I have always stuck my GPS to the windshield but now that I've tried one of these, I'll never do that again. The amount stays in place and when you want to take your GPS or whatever you have mounted on it down, you can place it anywhere with no hassle. Another nice thing about the dash mount is that it puts the GPS or whatever you use about 8 to 10 inches closer to you. In addition, the product was shipped quickly and comes at a great price.
Customer Review: Works perfectly as advertised Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this for my Tom Tom One, because its stock suction cup wasn't sticking to my windshield anymore. I couldn't buy a replacement, since suction cups on the windshield are now illegal in MN. It seemed little light at 2 lbs, but it stays in place like it's glued down. I'm what some consider at Type-A driver, and I haven't had any problems with it moving. My dash is relatively flat, so your mileage may vary. I would recommend this to anyone who wants or needs an alternative to a windshield-mounted suction cup.
Customer Review: This mount doesn't work for me. Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this hoping it would secure my Magellan Maestro on the dash of my Lincoln Mark VII. The car has a shelf below the top dash but this mount just isn't a good fit for this car. I was surprised that the bottom surface wasn't "stickier" because it just moved around too much to keep things in place. I had the same problem in my Ford truck so for now, this mount is just excess to my needs. I ended up using one of the Magellan plastic, stick-on discs to solve my mounting problem in the Lincoln.
