Just purchased the NavGear universal dash mat for my Garmin Nuvi 255wt and was disappointed at how easily it slipped from the dash. I have a Mazda 6 which has a curved dash and while accelerating from a light, it will start it's downward journey to the floor. I have a clean dash and don't use armour all to shine it up. Braking while turning also gets the mat moving about. The bottom of the mat is not at all tacky. I'd prefer to not place the GPS on the windshield and don't want to glue a disc on the dash.
Have heard good things about the Garmin mat but Best Buy doesn't sell Garmin accessories. The good part of the NavGear is that the mount works great. My GPS has never separated from the it using the Garmin suction cup. Maybe it works like it should on cars with a more shelf like dash.

This mount is an excellent alternative to some GPS manufacturer-branded dashboard mounts. It sticks to any clean (not dusty or dirty) surface and is flexible enough to conform around typical dashboard curves. It's also heavier than some others, but that's a good thing because it reduces sliding.
This mounts best feature it that it allows me to simply disconnect my GPS from it's quick-release mount and put it in my travel bag. I then just leave this on the floor under a seat.
Price was fair and delivery was free due to the overall cost of my order. I do think Amazon delivery's getting slower and slower though because I used to get orders in around 1 week. Now they take approx 2 weeks. Funny how the delivery is slowing down but they've perfected instant payment ...

I ordered the navgear dash mount because I had broken the screen on my previous tom tom because it always fell off the window. The navgear has prevented my tom tom from falling forward and hitting something however it does not stay in place 100% on the dashboard. When you have to get around a corner quickly it does slide and fall to the floor. I will say though, the tom tom remained upright thru the fall because of the weight of the navgear. Another plus of the navgear is that you can just take the whole thing and hide it easily in the car w/ no marks left on your window advertising that you have a gps in your car. So, for the money it is working out for me but it's not completely up to how it was advertised. Also, it works well with the tom tom 130 - no issues with the power cord.Customer Review: Dash Mount holds GPS steady.

The portable Navgear ME201133 Universal Dash Mount is as advertised. It is doing an excellent job of keeping my GPS from toppling off of my dash board, even during sudden stops. I highly recommend this innovative product to anyone who uses GPS or satellite radio because with this product, it is no longer necessary to use the windshield to advertise there are electronic accessories in the car when it is parked. With the portable dash mount, the accessory can be easily hidden from view and used from car to car.
The price was considerably less than the 'box stores' are supposedly discounting the same type of portable dash mount, which makes it a good value. Shipping was included.

I had the old kind of GPS holder that sticks to the windshield or the dash, but after this one I would never have any other kind! I recently changed to a different van and could not take the old style with me, it was glued to the dash and I didn't know where to get another round sticky disk to hold it, so when I saw this one it looked pretty good so I bought it. It works great, and now I know I can take it with me in any car I take. I'll never use another kind but this one again! It stays in place pretty darn well since its so heavily weighted.
It has a round disk in the center. My old stand suctioned right on, this will work on any brand, though I just happen to have a Garman.
