This had internal meltdown the first time I used it! I only had one item plugged in, a small single bulb amber flashing light. The light works fine plugged into the accessory socket directly and the light does not use a lot of current. I don't remember the amperage but I bought it for it's low energy requirement. First time I use the 3 way with this one item and it melts all the internal metal parts into a glob of gooey plastic.
What this tells me is that the metal components are not made of enough quality as it had fatal meltdown before it's own fuse blew! I believe the fuse finally blew because the metal parts came into contact with each other, not because of current draw. I dissected this item and was shocked at the failure and how poorly it was made. But in all fairness, what do you expect for the price? Once again; you get what you pay for.

I bought this 3 months ago and I plugged my GPS, my FM transmitter, and my Ipods charger in all at the same time. I was sketchy on getting this because everyone said it blew a fuse but that never happened with me. Maybe you just can't have too many things using power. Your lighter outlet is only made for a certain amount of watts. Like an electrical outlet, if you have too many things plugged in, it's going to blow a fuse. So you can't be upset at the product. Cigarette lighters are meant to run small things.
Another plus for me is that it sticks out since the cigarette lighter in my 90 New Yorker is a little pushed back.

I used the splitter for about a week with just one device plugged in. No problems there! I had the need to plug a second device in. About 5-7 seconds later it started to smell like burned plastic and the two devices lost power before I got a chance to unplug the splitter. Luckily, neither of the two devices was affected, but the splitter was a loss. The vehicle's fuse was not blown. It seems like other people has similar experiences.
Is this device good up to a certain load? Is that documented anywhere so people know to avoid it if it doesn't match their expectations? I would not recommend this to anybody.

Although i paid extra to receive this product in two days ... i didnt receive it until WAY later. In addition, i was only able to use this product a couple of times. I received it in Sept. and it died on Nov. 11th!!! Whats up with this. Instead of writing a bad comment i was trying to find a way to contact the vendor to secure either my money back or a replacement. I would like to be contacted ... can i get a product that works or my money back.

It is very hard to get this splitter plugged into my cigarette lighter then after I did get it plugged in, I can't get the adjustable arm tight enough to hold anything I plug into it stable. I have only plugged in my iPod FM transmitter but no matter how tight I turn the screw, the whole thing slowly slides down were I can't see the iPod display. I have not tried to plug more than one thing into this but after reading other reviews, I think I am afraid to do so.
