Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of iLuv i177 Alarm Clock Speaker System for iPod (Black)Customer Review: Does what it was designed to do. Summary: 4 Stars
It has two alarms that work great. However, when you set the alarm sometimes, it will revert back to the old setting so you have checked it. To set the time, there is a wheel that goes through each minute. It becomes annoying after a while. The remote is small and shotty, but serves it purpose. However, you have point directly at the front for it to work. Being able to choose between iPod, music, or alarm to play when the alarm goes off is a great feature. I bought it on sale so it was well worth the money.
Customer Review: Excellent Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very good product all the way around. Good sound, multiple alarms, low profile and stylish.
I don't have an ipod - I bought this because it has an AUX port... and a USB port for charging. I use it with my creative ZEN.
Even if you don't yet have an ipod or mp3 player... this is a very nice setup.
The display is bright - even on the lowest setting (there are 3 levels of brightness) BUT... you can turn it off all together... so it works out. :)
Customer Review: Could not ask for more Summary: 5 Stars
I compared this unit to many others at places like BJs, Costco, Kohl's, etc and it is clearly the best. If you are looking for a dual alarm your choices are relatively few compared to single alarm units. Easy to set up, with clear illuminated buttons. Sound quality is great, and the price was the lowest for a dual alarm unit that I found. Attractive and well made. Finally bought an ipod (on AMZN) and this makes it even more useful. I could not be happier. You will not be sorry.
Customer Review: Defective merchandise with no support Summary: 2 Stars
So this is exactly what i was looking for. Radio, buzzer alarm, ipod playback, but the problem was with the ipod playback. My devce must have been defective, becase niether a 5th gen ipod video, nor a 4th gen ipod nano would playback through the speakers. When the ipods were connected I could use the buttons on the device and the remote to tell the ipods to play and stop. I could also advance and reverse the play list, but there was no sound, nor would either device charge.
Customer Review: FATAL FLAW Summary: 1 Stars
As others have noted, the minimum volume setting for the radio wake mode is too high - WAY too high for me. It's a deal killer. It's interesting to note that the instructions were edited with a piece of tape to indicate wake volume of "10 to 40" instead of "1 to 40" as originally printed.
The two disks that are used for tuning, volume, and time setting are difficult to use and are just a bad idea.
None of the supplied adapters worked with our nanos.
