I picked up this little speaker thinking my iphone would plug directly into as it appears to in the picture (being held in place), but after opening the package it became clear that wasn't the case. There is a small notch that a nano could fit in, but even those would not be held firmly. You are forced to simply rest your phone/ipod on the edge of the player and an earphone plug wraps around from the back of the unit to the device. The sound quality wasn't bad for such a small unit, but for me it was way too much of a risk having my expensive device perched on the front lip in a way that it could easily be knocked off and damaged.Customer Review: Very poor sound quality - returned it!

I bought this portable speaker for our camping trips, to listen to both music and audio books on my iPod. It works very well with the iPod, in that it connected to it quite easily. However, the sound quality is wretched, horrid! The songs sounded like the singer had mush in their mouth...no crispness at all, and forget the audiobooks completely. I returned it and instead bought these little Tweakers,Tweakers SPKR-R1-RD 3.4W Pull-n-Play Speakers, red which work beautifully, and have a great sound. No looking back!!Customer Review: This is AMAZING!

I shopped around for iPod speakers for a long time. After doing a ton of research I settled on these. Some of the reviewers said they experienced some sound quality issues and I did too until I changed the EQ settings on the iPod itself. The sound gets so loud! I am in love with this product! It is the perfect size to keep in smaller places like the kitchen and bathroom! I love being able to sing in the shower now!The only issue I have is when I move the product from room to room I have to keep a sturdy hold on the iPod itself or it falls off, but that is only a minor distraction. Ok so i bought this little thing at Sears for $20, a great price. I like to listen to music at night when I sleep. It would be on for about 8 hours a night and however long i listnend to my ipod in the day. Then, 2 weeks later, I tried full blast for like 5 seconds, and blew the speakers. So I kept the volume down for a few days. Then when my ipod 3rd gen was at half volume, everything went fuzzy, not just the bass like when it was loud. So it was a waste of money. And its not the batteries. I replaced them and same thing. I would not reccomend you buy this.Customer Review: Wonderful Sound! Even Base!

I have tried ALOT of inexpensive ipod docks, and this is by far the BEST sound quality! It actually has base. I travel with it often and it is perfect. I use it everyday, it travels outdoors with me and it is two years old......still works great. Haven't blown the speakers yet or anything. They only thing that could be better would be the option to plug it into an outlet ILO using batteries all the time. Other than that....its the only one I use!
I listen to everything from the grateful dead to metallica and primus....they all sound great on it!
