I got this for Christmas and I was disappointed at first because it's true that it does not charge your iPod and it only runs on batteries. However, I truly do enjoy the portability of this little dock, which makes it easy to move from room to room. Also, the sound quality is amazing!!!! The music is crisp and clear even at loud levels. Also, it seems to use very little battery, as I am still on my first set, and if you have rechargeable batteries, this aspect should not be a problem at all. I love it! I was going to return it for one that does charge my iPod, but after using it once, this small inconvenience is out ruled by all the pros this speaker offers. And my second generation nano sits on the ledge just fine, as long as you position the cord right. :) Recommended!!!!!!Customer Review: Much better than I expected!

I bought this yesterday after looking long and hard at this and a few other portable speakers for my iPod Nano 3rd gen. I wasn't entirely sure it could produce the kind of sound I needed, and was almost certain I would end up taking it back.
Boy, was I wrong!
The moment I plugged my iPod into this speaker I was amazingly surprised at the wonderful sound quality this little unit produced, and the kind of volume it could crank out. I can even play my collection of Trance music and be able to hear the bass clearly!
Another reviewer commented on the strange cord setup which was a bit inconvenient for the iPod Nano - yes, it is a little odd, but personally I don't mind one bit. This speaker was every bit worth the money I paid for it!

I've spent a lot of time and some money looking for a suitable speaker set for my Ipod Touch. I like to view movies while laying in bed and this is perfect. No power cords to get in the way, sound is good for my purposes. There is a little ledge to rest the Ipod on, and it allows me to view in landscape mode. All the docking speakers force me to remove the case and most of them force portrait mode position. This is perfect as I don't want to struggle with the case or viewing position. It's a great value for my uses.

I just picked one of these up. It is a simple device that does not charge your music players and does not have a dock for any device. Connection is made via a standard mini jack cord that stores nicely on the back of the speaker system. The cord wraps around to the front where your palyer can sit on a small built in ledge. I was surprised by the quality of the sound for such a small device. It has no separate volume control. Volume is controlled by your player itself. IT IS NOT FOR THE AUDIOPHILE BUT HIGH END SOUND IS NOT THE PURPOSE OF THIS DEVICE. IT IS AN ULTRAPORTABLE SMALL SPEAKER SYSTEM THAT HAS GOOD SOUND FOR THE MONEY. My husband and I liked our speakers so much that I am actually on here purchasing a second pair. I know that some people lament its less-than-perfect sound quality...but it's seriously not that expensive. We almost didn't purchase these speakers because of complaints about sound quality, and we are so glad that we didn't pay attention to them. The sound quality is AMAZING for $20, and it lasts for a decent amount of time on a set of batteries (and we use rechargeable ones) and we really like that the speakers don't have to be plugged in. Both of us have OtterBoxes on our iPhones, and it's extremely difficult to get speakers that will easily plug into the phone because of those dimensions, but these speakers work perfectly.
