Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of iHome iH9 Alarm Clock Speaker System with Dock for iPod (Black)Customer Review: Planned on rating it higher.... Summary: 3 StarsIt has so many wonderful features (all mentioned prior to my writing) that it really should be a five star gadget.
But I have to rate it down because our TV remote (Verizon, if that matters...) changes the brightness of the clock (not THAT big a deal) AND turns the alarm on/off each time you click the remote.
Turning the alarm on/off IS a big deal. I'm a teacher, and had set my alarm to wake me in the morning. It didn't go off. Thankfully I made it to work on time. I quickly learned that when my husband watches TV before bed, it will turn my alarm on and off.
So, I don't use it for the alarm. I still have my very old faithful alarm clock plugged in across the room. I make sure to set it each night as I know it can't be turned off.
The other "con" is that the volume just doesn't go low enough. When I'm reading at night I like to listen to music as well. But I like it low. REALLY low. This just doesn't cut it for me.
I'm thrilled with the sound quality (at least from my iPod...I don't use the radio) and the fact that the lights can be turned all the way off.
Customer Review: exactly what your ipod and you need Summary: 5 Starsthis is an awesome alarmclock!!
i have been looking for an alarmclock that could play my ipod for awhile, but have been hesitant to buy because of the price and mixed reviews. this alarmclock is definitely worth the money!
the only fault i find with it is the lack of radio: the am and fm reception is almost non-existent (unless you like static). i didn't buy this for the radio, and i'm sure most of you won't either.
my favorite features are the several dimmer levels and the sleep-to-one volume/wake-to-another-volume choice. and it's always nice to have a remote too!
Customer Review: more than i expected Summary: 5 Starsthe clock radio and alarm worked very well. the system was very attractive and the sound was better than expected. the only minor drawback was that at the highest volume the music barely filled my bedroom. as i don't plan to use it as a stereo this didn't bother me much.
Customer Review: JUNK Summary: 1 StarsThis companies customer service is poor as is the product design. The IH26 was used less than 6 months and the docking point failed. Without a solid connection at the docking point you get no sound, no charge - nothing. Customer service never responded (at all) to two emails. Their website claims that the day a sale is made is only the beginning of their commitment. Yeah, right! I'll say it again - Never Responded!
I could have bought a similar product for about 25% of the cost of the iHome - Don't waste your money - buy the cheaper one - at least it doesn't hurt as much when you drop it in the trash can!
Some words to describe the iHome product - Junk, Garbage, Trash, Over-priced, Cheaply made but high cost, Great paper-weight, Poor return on investment, Zero value - You get my point. Save your money.
Customer Review: Met Expectations Summary: 4 StarsI bought the iHome because I wanted to be able to hear my downloaded audiobooks at night without fussing with the ear buds to my iPod. The sound in the iHome is very good. The only issue I have with the produce is that the remove is so small (smaller than my cell phone) that the buttons cannot be pressed without difficulty. Otherwise, it's a great product.
