I just purchased the iH9 a few weeks ago and have been trying to wake to the ipod or playlist... not happening!! It always defaults to the buzzer (UGGH!) I called the customer care line and they said to update my software (I did many times over). I even reset the my ipod nano a few times before docking and setting the alarm. I exchanged it for another and still the same thing! BOO HOO. Otherwise the iH9 is really nice and I have no complaints. I really bought it for the alarm features so if that is what you are looking for choose another one. The buzzer makes you almost wet your bed (YUCK!!). This a great clock radio except for when you try using it with a 1st Generation iPod Touch. When listening to the iPod at low volumes, the only thing I could here was a static noise that occured while the iPod was charging. I returned the product and got a replacement, only to have the same problems. I loved everything about this iHome but could not stand the static "helicopter-like" noise that came from the thing while trying to fall asleep. (I tried turning off the WiFi and it did nothing to help the problem. I looked online and saw a few other people had the same issue.It may not happen with everyone.Customer Review: Didn't last

I bought this for my daughter about a year and a half ago and was very, very pleased. She liked it a lot, it was easy to use and the sound was decent. About 3 months ago, the device began playing static more often than music out of the iPod (radio was fine). The problem was intermitent and could be fixed by putting a bobby pin in the top to hold the iPod in place. Since then, it has consistanty gotten worse and we finally gave up. My husband (a real technology wizard)spent quite a bit of time with it and pronounced it dead. I recently bought this item about a month ago and I could not be any happier with it. Granted there isn't too much bass and what not, but the sound clarity out of these speakers is amazing and there just a great amount of features. Being a college student, getting up early in the morning is a must and this product has options of setting up alarms in 3 different ways, what way you want the alarm to sound, etc. Overall, I'm very happy with this product. It's a bit pricey, but then again anything associated to Apple has always been expensive. Definitely recommended if you have a dorm or even apartment.Customer Review: I really wanted to like this but...

I have purchased three of these (2 for my son one for me). The first one I bought was an earlier version for my son who was about 8. The snooze button broke within a year but I assumed that he was too rough with it and bought him a new one and bought one for me as well. Mine is about 15 months old and the dimmer button broke (luckily in the lowest setting), but I am unable to see what time it is. Searching the web it appears that this is quite common and there is no support to fix the problem. The iHome is exactly what I wanted, but don't want to continue to spend $100 a year to replace them.
