I just purchased my iHome IH9 and I adore it.
It's easy to set up, and the instructions are clear and concise.
I have a small apartment and the speakers are wonderful with exceptionally clear sound. I absolutely LOVE the remote, too.
As others have mentioned, the FM reception on this isn't as great as typical radio alarm clocks, but I certainly don't miss it. I love that I can fall asleep to my music and wake up to it too. The buzzer on the alarm is really annoying, so I created a playlist immediately after the first morning.

If you're looking for a good docking system that will charge your ipod, produce good sound, and want to wake up to your playlist, here is the answer!

This companies customer service is poor as is the product design. The IH26 was used less than 6 months and the docking point failed. Without a solid connection at the docking point you get no sound, no charge - nothing. Customer service never responded (at all) to two emails. Their website claims that the day a sale is made is only the beginning of their commitment. Yeah, right! I'll say it again - Never Responded!
I could have bought a similar product for about 25% of the cost of the iHome - Don't waste your money - buy the cheaper one - at least it doesn't hurt as much when you drop it in the trash can!
Some words to describe the iHome product - Junk, Garbage, Trash, Over-priced, Cheaply made but high cost, Great paper-weight, Poor return on investment, Zero value - You get my point. Save your money.

At first I was very impressed with the iHome. Great sound quality for the speaker size, and decent iPod integration as well. The remote was also a handy addition. Then the speakers broke after two weeks of use. I didn't play them too loud. They simply stopped working. Then I bought the Xtreme Mac Luna speakers, and I was blown away. Sound quality, alarm clock options, and ipod integration are way better than the iHome, plus beats the iHome hands down in style. The remote had a lot more options like base and treble adjustment, dual alarm settings, and playlist shuffling. The best part is that the Luna works perfectly with my iPhone. I don't know how well the iHome works with the iPhone, but if you're an iPhone user looking for an easy way to play songs in your room and charge it at the same time, then go for the Luna.Customer Review: Nice Features But With A Downside

The ihome alarm clock has some nice features, not the least of which is the ability to plug in your ipod and listen or wake to music. The clock looks good too. However, there are a couple of negatives, which may or may not be major depending on your situation:
1) If you choose to wake to the alarm buzzer rather than music, you will find that the buzzer sound is very quiet even at the loudest settings. If you're a heavy sleeper, this might be an issue.
2) A bigger problem for me is that my Tivo remote works on a similar frequency to the ihome remote. When I change the channel on the Tivo, my alarm turns on or off, depending on how it was set before. Other Tivo controls, affect other functions on the clock. For me, this means the ihome radio is not usable in my bedroom with the Tivo.

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter to use with her 4th generation Nano. Fit perfectly with the provided insert. She loves all the features it offers - especailly the remote. She mostly uses it to listen to music in her room, and, oh yeah it functions as an alarm to wake her for school. I LOVE the 5 day alarm setting - I don't have to wake in a panic on Friday nights "Did I turn off her alarm?" The display does seem bright - not sure if she has played with the brightness settings. It seems like it would give you a tan in your sleep but I'm fussy about light when I sleep. I read all reviews for alarm clock radios that play/charge iPod Nano 4G. This one just seems to do it all. I may order one for me since Santa brought me a Nano too. I will check the brightness settings first, though.
