Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of iHome iH8 Clock Radio for iPod (Black)Customer Review: Works Great (when used as intended) Summary: 5 Stars
This product works great as a bedside radio/alarm clock. The sound quality is good, but will not fill your living room (because it's not meant to). This newer model has fixed many of the complaints of the earlier model (backlight too bright, low volume not low enough, etc.) I bought the earlier model 3 years ago for my sister, and it's still working good-as-new for her. I really enjoy waking up to some rocking music rather than an annoying beep beep beep!
Customer Review: iHome is a great value Summary: 4 Stars
The first thing to consider is that this is not a 1,000 dollar+ home theater system, so you can't possibly expect home theater sound. That said, this unit is great for the price. I opened it up, put my ipod right in it, and pressed play, and it sounded really good. I was amazed at the lack of distortion even at really high volumes. If you're looking for something for your bedroom/ office/ desk/ kitchen, look no further, it really is a great value.
Customer Review: iHome IH8BR Clock Radio for iPod Summary: 3 Stars
The IH8BR is a nice, low-cost option for docking the iPod. It has remarkably good sound quality for the money. The tuner is only so-so, and the remote control seems to be quite directional, working only intermittently. You definitely won't need any night lights! The display throws off an incredible amount of light and tends to light up a dark room, but, it seems to be a decent buy and is doing the job I expected it to do quite economically.
Customer Review: Decent product for it's purpose Summary: 4 Stars
On the upside, it works well, is easy to figure out, has a nice LCD display, and has some nice alarm and sleep features. On the downside, you can't turn off the button lights, the bass is too low and the remote is limited in functions that interact with the iPod itself. Even though I can imagine it with better features in many categories, as far as what it's purpose is intended for, it's a good choice and even a bargain in many cases.
Customer Review: Pathetic quality Summary: 1 Stars
We bought this alarm clock radio about two years ago to play lullabies at night for our daughter. That is the extent to which it has been used: two hours at most of soft music at night. Only adults have touched it. We have never even moved it. All of a sudden, the sound just doesn't work. Even when cranked to 40, the loudest volume, you can barely hear the radio or ipod if you put your ear right next to it. Don't waste your money!
