Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of iHome iH8 Clock Radio for iPod (Black)Customer Review: Great Sound for clock radio Summary: 4 Stars
I received the iHome IH8BR clock radio about 4 weeks ago, and it was very easy to setup, and the sound system for the iPod is excellent! For a clock radio this system works great! I'd recommend this for any one who loves to listen to music and wake to your own tunes. Great for any small room like an office. And it has a great FM as well.
The only draw back is the remote does not work as well as I had hoped. Poor range, like 1 ft., and I have to push the buttons several times to get it to work. Changed the batteries and still didn't work any better.
Over all I am very happy with the iHome clock radio.
Customer Review: I love it!! Summary: 5 Stars
After much thought and reading everyone else's reviews, I took it upon myself to indulge in this electronic device. Not only does it allow ipod users to dock their mp3 player to play music, it also serves as an alarm clock as well. As soon as I opened it, I put it on the vacant spot of my nightstand; it looks so good there!! To be so small it really packs in the punch! The sound is phenomenal, and the size couldn't be more perfect. I highly recommend this item to music lovers who want to experience quality sound without all the bulk. Also, the price being just under one hundred dollars does not hurt either!
Customer Review: iHome IH8BR: (just ok) Summary: 3 Stars
Nothing awesome here, but it sounds & works ok.
Things I dislike:
* The sleep timer.
I don't like the increments 120, 90, 60, 30 or 15 minutes.
Why not a variable timer like my $10 GE alarm clock?
The remaining sleep time doesn't display unless you press the sleep button again, yet the all important Y/M/D date does display.
*The lowest volume '1' is too loud. I sleep right next to the radio.
*The backlit buttons are WAY too bright and don't dim with the LCD.
*The "EQ" is nothing more than a bass/treble knob, hardly an equalizer.
Customer Review: Do Not Buy Summary: 2 Stars
Got this as a Christmas present 2 years ago, clock and alarm function work fine, I'm finally getting around to upgrading. The ipod function started having problems less than a year having it, the connection between the ipod and the unit is not designed well, it is flimsy and eventually will end up not being able to support the ipod, physically, to hold the connection. For what it's worth, I have a third generation ipod.
Sound is okay, nothing spectacular, you could do a lot better, with a superior product, and spend the same amount or even less.
Customer Review: Pretty good Summary: 4 Stars
I like most things about this clock. I like the fact that it start the alarm/music low and then builds up the volume so that it doesn't scare you into a morning heart attack. I also like the fact that it lets you adjust the brightness of the display, particularly for those of us who are insomniacs. And I like the fact that it allows you to use your iPod.
The two things I don't like about it is that the alarm only goes off for one hour and, because of this, I sometimes over-sleep - and that's not good.
Also, the FM reception is terrible.
