I bought this radio to use with a brand new iPod Nano I also bought from Amazon. I read the description and reviews and was pretty sure it would work with my new iPod. However the booklet inside and the information on the box, made me think differently. I did not want to open it all up and then discover I couldn't use it so I emailed the company from their web site and asked. That was 3 weeks ago and they have never answered. I called the 800 number and the lady there was sure it would. It does, however if you are using it with a new Nano, do not use the dock that says Nano on it since it is for an older Nano. There is another one in the box that will work. I have been falling asleep and waking to my iPod since and I am very happy!Customer Review: Am I missing something here?

Maybe I'm missing something - I bought the unit so I could fall asleep to music on my iPod, for that it works okay. The problem is however, if you have an iPod in the unit you cannot wake up to an alarm. While some say they enjoy waking up to music (iPod or Radio) I need an alarm to wake up. If an iPod is plugged into the unit, you can only set the alarm to play radio or iPod - I need an obnoxious buzzer or beeper to make sure I wake up. Personally, I think this is a MAJOR design flaw, but, since no one else in the reviews has mentioned this, I'm either really different or am missing something quite obvious. I'm sending mine back. I wanted to like the unit, but the lack of the ability to wake to alarm is a deal killer.Customer Review: Poorly made, doesn't function long

I received this product for Christmas. I know it was purchased on Amazon.com. Just so everyone is aware, this is a model that i-home no longer makes, there is a newer model that is manufactured now. Though I like the docking features and the sound quality is good, some of the LCD digits on the clock display stopped working last week. Now I can't tell what time it is! That's very important to me, since this sits by my bedside, and is used as a clock first and foremost. Also, the remote only works if you aim it only at one very specific spot on the front of the unit, not just in the general direction like a TV or other device.
All in all, poorly made, and not worth the money.

Have really enjoyed this product. The alarm's ramp-up volume is pleasant and the entire set up was a breeze.
Only issue I have is with the clock light, the backlight clock is bright enough to light my entire room. However, the MOST annoying thing is that to turn the backlight off - you have to cycle through all the light settings. You can't move down OR up. Here is an example: if you went from low to semi-lite just to see what time it is at 3am in the morning, you then have to cycle all the way up to the brightest setting to then start the cycle back down to the off setting. Too much of a wakeup call for me, so now I just lean over to see hubby's clock.

The Good:
-sound is better than the average clock-radio.
-nice to be able to listen to your ipod at night
-recharges your ipod while you sleep
The Bad:
-the remote is almost worthless (hard to make the IH8 accept the remote's signal)
-not sure how to put this, but most clock-radios have illuminated digits, with a dark background. The IH8 is reverse; dark digits with an illuminated background. As my eye sight is garbage without glasses, this type of clock is not good for me; can't read the digits without glasses. If I'd known this, prior to purchasing the IH8, I would not have purchased the IH8
