I've been looking for a suitable protective case for an uniquely shaped Simpletech Signature Mini portable hard drive which has a sleek, curved body designed by Pininfarina. Not at all like the the common six-sided "brick" configuration. The only cases that fit are the neoprene type which offers little impact protection. I came across this case browsing through BestDealsUSA's storefront. The HD is slightly longer and nearly the same thickness as a TomTom with a 4.3" screen. I thought that for $3.39 I could take the risk and at worst, I'd have another case for my TomTom.
I'm happy to say that the HD fits quite nicely with plenty of room for a USB cable, some SD cards and two flash drives. Construction seems durable. Stitching is solid and accurate. Zipper is not a YKK but I didn't expect it to be. The injection-molded sides were covered with a dark blue Cordura-like fabric. The inner lining seems to be a flecked-on, micro-fiber fleece, soft to the touch and screen/finish friendly. The neoprene "divider" has three "SD card sized" pockets and a well-intended but somewhat useless "cargo" net for accessories rounds out the interior. The simple hand strap and carabiner are a nice touch though I don't plan on using either.
I've seen comparable cases for double online and $15+ in stores. I'm so impressed that I plan on buying two more in the near future.
