Customer Review: Very Brittle Plastic

The card reader is extremely small and as such I suppose the manufacturer compromised on the plastic case's durability. The reader works as long as you treat it with the utmost delicacy and remove it from the USB port with extreme care or not at all.
I inserted/removed the reader less than 10 times before the plastic tip where the MicroSD card is inserted came off. I slid the tip back on and the reader still worked. The second time the tip came off, the little "bridge" of plastic that arcs over the MicroSD card completely broke off also. I then accidentally dropped the reader not more than a few feet off the ground and it landed on a semi-hard surface (not soft but not concrete hard either). That seems to have dislodged a solder joint somewhere as the reader no longer works at all.
If you buy this reader treat it very gently, remove it by pinching both ends of the reader and pulling carefully (do not use the attached chord to remove it), and do not drop it or you likely will have a useless reader. I wasted nearly ten bucks on this reader. I will not buy another "elago" brand card reader.
