Customer Review: Superior to the Original Apple Equipment

I was always a bit suspicious of the quality or the original dock that Apple includes with the Shuffle. Its cheaply made and I've heard stories of bent clips on the Shuffle that makes docking it impossible, as it will no longer fit in the dock. This one doesn't have any of the liabilities that the original has. Its better constructed and the input jack plugs directly into the headphone slot w/o need for a form fitting dock as with the original. Best of all, is the price. While the substandard Apple replacement is $29 plus shipping, this one shipped is around $5. The only issue I have with this transaction is that I wish I would have bought two, so I can have a backup.Customer Review: Works halfway.

I went this route because I liked the idea of not having an actual dock.
As other reviews have stated, there is a wiring error here that creates an error message and shuts down one of my USB port (the one on the side of my MacBook that I primarily use). Out of curiosity, I plugged it into the port on the opposite side and it seems to work fine, and boots with iTunes after about a minute (so it's slower, but functional).
So I guess it works on one of my two USB ports, but I wouldn't suggest it. Unless you really want to stay away from the dock-style adapters.

was rather surprised when the dock that came with my iPod shuffle broke on me. Even more surprised when I saw that Apple wanted $29.95 to replace it. Heck, that's almost half of what the Shuffle cost to begin with. And if the first one broke so easy I don't want to take a chance.
So I surfed around and saw this handy dandy thing. I got it pretty quick and it works like a charm! And what's better, you can carry this around with you much easier than the Apple dock and it's not going to die on me.

I purchased this item for my shuffle to replace the one I lost. I figured it should be fine since its just a cable right? Apple wanted something like 20 bucks, which I felt was a rip off, so I bought this thing along with the wall charger for a couple bucks more. The thing is totally dead. It doesn't charge and I-Tunes doesn't even recognize a device no matter which usb port or computer I use. The wall charger works with my Nano though so it wasn't a total loss. I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get the one from Apple.Customer Review: This is the most useless thing ever.

The company that sold it to me is fine, but the actual product is terrible. It only worked on certain computers (I used it on a school laptop and a personal laptop, both were XP) and even then, if it was moved or nudged slightly, it'd stop working. I had to wiggle it around and use only certain USB ports on my laptop to make it work, and even then 90% of the time it didn't. And, no matter what computer I tried it on, it took a couple of HOURS to transfer songs and charge my 1 gb shuffle. Just don't buy this. Please.
