Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of 12' OPTICAL TOSLINK DIGITAL FIBER OPTIC AUDIO CABLECustomer Review: Works Great, Good Price! Summary: 4 Stars
As many have said before, any optical cable will do the job, and this one has worked just fine. I had no problems with the sockets staying in, infact on mine they were both a little tight. The cable itself is not very thick, and for that reason it is hard to fatten out, but since it is 12' long I had extra length to work with. It is thinner and not as flexable as an Xbox 360 cable I bought several years ago, but is was only 1/5 the price. If you are looking for an inexpensive optical cable that is longer than most this is great for the price!
Customer Review: It works but I wonder about the quality.... Summary: 5 Stars
It's digital, hence it either works or it doesn't. My cable works and sounds just fine but I wonder how the quality will hold up. The cable itself is very thin (About the thickness of a US quarter, if that), which could be a good or bad thing depending on your preference. The cable itself tends to keep its curled shape, since that's how it was bundled when shipped. So if you are looking for cable that will lay flat, you may want to consider another cable. If you are just looking for a good, cheap cable then this is the one for you!
Customer Review: Amazing Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this Digital Optical Audio cable, along with one from another company, and i have to admit i was impressed with this one more. This is my first time ever using one, but the sound quality is simply amazing. along with that, what I like most about this cable is the diameter, It is incredibly thin, while my other cable is as thick as an HDMI cable. The thinness of the cable makes it easy to hid without loosing quality. I am very happy i purchased this.
Customer Review: Cheap, works, very thin Summary: 5 Stars
First thing I noticed about this cable is that it's really very very thin. I was very suprised by how thin it was, and was a little worried about it. But I plugged it in and it works. I didn't test it against another thicker cable but my guess is, is that it would be identical. I mean, it's digital. Either the bits and bytes get there or they don't, right?
Never pay big money for cables, all you're paying for is the marketing and the packaging.
Customer Review: Doesn't fit Summary: 1 Stars
I bought two on the basis of the other reviews and the low price, and both arrived quickly. However, when I opened one and tried to insert it into an Apple TV optical output, it would not lock in place. I tried it again in a Scientific Atlanta cable TV DVR optical output and the same thing happened, it would not lock in place. Rather than try to force it, I returned both for a refund. I've had better fits with Monster and Phillips brand optical cables.
