Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Zune 8 GB Digital Media Player (Red)

Customer Review: Great little gadget
Summary: 5 Stars

After I downloaded the free software that goes with it and had my wife figure out how it all worked, it was smooth sailing to rip music from my CD's to the computer then to the Zune player. I just can't get over how much music that little box can hold. I've put a ton of CD's in there already and have barely used 2 GB of the 8 total GB of the player. Navigating the albums and songs once they are loaded to the Zune is very easy. The sound quality is great. I use it mostly when I go on my walks. It's just perfect for what I need it for. Plus, the added feature of an FM radio is really nice as well. The reception is great.

Customer Review: Same as i-pod Nano, but way cheaper.
Summary: 4 Stars

Nice thing about Zunes is that they're pretty much the same as i pods, they're just always cheaper. The Zune does have what the i pod doesn't. Zune has radio and Social network. Sound quality is nice with really good ear buds. The battery life is only okay, but that is only for this model of Zune. The bigger Zunes have longer battery. The video quality is great. And since the Zune Marketplace sells video now, so you can use that to its full potential. It only comes with 5 games and you can't get more, but Microsoft will more than likely add more later. Overall it's awesome, and the other Zunes are even better.

Customer Review: Good and Bad
Summary: 3 Stars

The Zune itself is a nice device and intuitive to use, and I would recommend it as a god music player. What I hated was the Zune software. It is not intuitive, too full of marketing, and then the idea you purchase music with points instead of money is ludicrous. Why should should I setup a bank account with Microsoft? I bought this for my wife for ebooks, so luckily we have software to load that and we don't need to use the zine software, and we won't, even for music. If you are looking for an alternative to iPods, I would also suggest you look at Creative Zen, which I use and love.

Customer Review: The birthday present that wasn't
Summary: 1 Stars

Well, the Zune didn't work when I got it, so I had to make an emergency run to Walmart the night before the 13 year old's birthday and ended up spending more that I intended for an Ipod Nano. Because, well, you know, 13 is a pretty big birthday event. Then having to spend the money on the Ipod threw my budget off kilter, and OF COURSE, I had to wait for the refund from Tiger Direct, but I must admit, the return/refund process was the best part of this transaction -- it was pretty seamless and I had my money back as fast as possible.
