Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Zune 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Black)Customer Review: She loved it when it worked... Summary: 3 Stars
I have a 30g Zune (and love it) and my wife had a 2nd gen Ipod nano. Even though she had no problems w/the ipod, I convinced her to sell and get a 16g Zune. while she likes the Zune more than the ipod, she is very disappointed it failed after only 7 weeks of use. The other day she went to use it and the back button would not work, then it just started acting weird and never recovered. Tried hard boots and such, to no avail. Disappointed in the fact that her replacement from Zune will be a refurb...after only two months of use. Still would not buy an ipod and love the Zune software and features, just disappointed in this unit. hopefully the next one will last longer.
Customer Review: The Benefit of Doubt Summary: 1 Stars
I'm only giving this review one star for the benefit of doubt that possibly I received a rare player that was doomed from day one. Within a week of receiving my black 16g Zune, I sent it in for repair to Microsoft. Upon the day I received it back from repair it had given me the same problem as before, which was fading completely black and not being able to use. Which led me to file for a refund and urged me to write this review. I feel confident enough to say that I recommend that everyone stay away from Microsoft products i.e. Zune, Xbox 360, and Vista. I've heard many instances in which all the previous listed systems are failing recently.
Customer Review: Better than an Ipod Summary: 5 Stars
For starters I love the software. One of the coolest features to me is the "now playing" feature. The software pulls pictures of the band you're listening to off the internet for you to view while you listen instead of a "visualizer."
Aside from that it's a pretty good mp3 player. It looks sleek and classy, holds a quite a bit of music even if you rip it at a higher quality, and has a sweet touch pad. Personally I think that scroll wheels are a pain in the butt for any man with normal sized thumbs. The Zune pad reminds me of a videogame D-pad, so it should feel natural to gamers out there.
Customer Review: Best MP3 I've had yet Summary: 5 Stars
I've had a lot of players over the years and this is by far the best I've ever had. It's not just the player but the Zune software and website combined with the player that make it so nice. If you need a fair amount of space but don't need 80 or 120 GB, then this is for you. I filled it three quarters of the way with ever song I have and I'll still get about 1,000 more songs on from the Zune website. It operates smooth and easy. It doesn't take a dozen moves to get your music playing and your options are great. Well worth the price.
Customer Review: Excellent! Summary: 5 Stars
I received the 16 GB black Zune v2 for Christmas, and so far, I am extremely happy with it. My first and only mp3 player before this was a first generation 1 GB iPod Nano. It was good at the time, but the upgrade was much needed. The Zune has a user friendly interface that is more innovative than an iPod and better looking. The Zune Software (on your computer) is also better than iTunes for the same reason. The touch pad on the Zune is easier to use than the iPod scroll wheel thing, and it's a better experience all together.
