Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Zune 16 GB Video MP3 Player (Black)

Customer Review: Great Little MP3 Player!
Summary: 5 Stars

Well I have used this little guy for about a week or so and I come from using a Creative Vision: M 30gb player.

Pros:
Tiny
Great sound quality
Easy to use and understand
Syncs Easily with the PC
Customizable
Wireless syncing
Zune Social (share music with other people that have Zunes)
Radio
Can add songs from radio to cart to purchase later
Fun free games!
Plays a vast amount of different music file types!

Cons:
*No EQ
*Should have better music rating system (its just a heart or broken heart, should have three ratings at least).
*Should have ability to remove songs from the device (must be done in software)

Bottom line:
If your looking for a great portable music player to say take to the gym or have in your pocket this is your guy.
Much better then the ipods (as far as sound quality, features, and ease of use ect).
Hopefully in the future firmware updates (which Apple charges $10 for and is free on the Zune) they will resolve some of the cons I mentioned earlier.

Great product.
Highly recommended.

Customer Review: Zunetastic!
Summary: 4 Stars

Looking to upgrade storage capacity from my 4g nano, I decided to give the Zune a try. I am very glad I did.
First, the pros:
Excellent sound. Way better than my ipod. But to be fair, it was a 2nd gen.
The touch pad is miles better than the click wheel.
Better display. Yes even better than the NEW nano. (a friend has one)
No useless 'shake it to change the song' feature. Is that really necessary?
Now the cons:
Itunes is more user friendly and runs much faster than the Zune software.
Battery life is shorter.
Bottom Line: If good sounding music is your reason for purchasing an mp3 player, go with a Zune.

After having this for a while, I have to add something. One of the best features of the Zune is also one of the worst. The screen is glass. I had it in my pocket and mistakenly put my keys in with it. Yes, the glass shattered. Would I still get a Zune? Absolutely. But I would invest in a protective case for it as well. Ipod definitely wins out in the durability department. But for me Zune still wins over all.

Customer Review: One of my best purchases
Summary: 5 Stars

My daughter who owns an iPod is jealous! I love it. The Zune is a great little device, it holds a lot of content, and it has been really wonderful for audiobooks and video. Couple of the reasons I like it better than iPod: glass display doesn't scratch, it's very durable. FM radio is a built-in feature, you can even tag songs from the radio for purchase later. You can enable wireless sync to marketplace. Zune software looks at multiple folders for syncing (it doesn't all have to be in the same folder like iTunes), and you can tell it what to sync and when. One small thing I am not crazy about (and this is just as much an Audible issue as a Zune issue) - sometimes I accidentally hit the FF pad on my Zune and end up jumping to the next chapter in my book. And then if I go back, I might repeat an hour of what I just listened to. If you do listen to audiobooks on your Zune, you'll probably want to hit play and then lock it so you don't accidentally hit the pad. Overall, a great purchase, and excellent value! You get a lot more features than iPod for the same $$.

Customer Review: Best MP3 player so far
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had an iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, Sansa e260, and Sansa Clip. The Zune blows them all away.

The device itself is small and light, nicer looking than the others. Sound quality is great, the user interface is very clean and easy to use. I have not had any of the battery life issues I've seen people complain about. The bundled headphones are not great (I have Klipsch custom-1s and Sony MDR-V700s), but pretty decent for bundled earbuds - better than the ones that came with the iPod and the Sansa.

The Zune software is great - WORLDS ahead of iTunes in all ways, and has much better syncing options than Windows Media Player or Winamp. Zune Marketplace/Zune Pass is the best subscription-based music service I've seen yet, and I've tried Napster, Rhapsody, and I have Sirius. I love the social aspect with the online profile displaying your stats.

All in all, I'm very happy with the Zune 16GB - there are a few quirks in the user interface I haven't gotten the hang of yet, but nothing major.

Customer Review: Zune 16 GB
Summary: 5 Stars

After owning a video iPod for a few years, I finally decided to get a Zune after getting tired of terrible Apple customer support and product reliability. First of all, the interface is very easy to use and moves very quickly. The touch pad works flawlessly and the two buttons are in well placed positions. The audio playback is very good quality and plenty loud, and included headphones are also very nice and comfortable in comparison to others (iPod). Watching videos is nice and smooth, although the small screen makes them a bit harder to watch. The 2 new games included are a very nice feature, with Hexic being one of the greatest things to ever come to a handheld device. All the new wireless features also work very well and have a decent range, and the radio works its purpose excellently. I would definitely recommended this over any iPod thanks to the better features, software, and pricing.
