Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Brite-View BV-2500 Wireless HD Video Transmitter and Receiver KitsCustomer Review: Brite View connected with HDFury to VGA 1080i projector Summary: 5 Stars
How to connect your HDMI devices to VGA port on a projector using Brite view HDMI wireless and HDfury2.
My setup:
I have two HiDef satellite boxes one from Sky in the UK and one from Meo in Portugal.
I am using Benq 2250 1080i projector that only has VGA port as my display. I plug my two sat boxes into the Briteview HDMI transmitter.
On the Briteview receiver I connect the HDFury2 HDMI to VGA adapter and connect to my projector as per the following connection sequence:
Meo box
----> Briteview Transmitter ----> Brite view Receiver ----> HDfury2 ----> VGA Port on Projector
Sky Box
All I have to say is that everything works exceptionally well, picture quality is awesome, far better than using S-video or Video.
I simply plugged everything in and it just worked. No need to buy HDMI projector or HDMI TV.
I would recommend this to solution to anyone who wants to use existing 1080i ready projector with their existing HD ready system (no need to buy expensive HD TV, and my picture size is over 200" with great quality)
I tried cabling but due to long cable lengths, the signal quality was being lost, hence the need for the Brite View system.
By using the Briteview system this problem was completely resolved and I now enjoy Cinema Screen size with HiDef quality 1900x1200.
BriteView is a fantastic product.
Customer Review: Works perfect for replacing a second cable box Summary: 5 Stars
I live in a 2 bedroom condo and wanted to add a tv to my kitchen/eating area where the living room tv is not visible. This area was not wired for cable and where I wanted to place the tv was at an external wall anyways. Can't imagine how much it would've cost to have that wired. I have the transmitter running off of the cable box in the living room to the receiver in the eating area, about 10 feet away not line of sight. The tv is only a basic 22 inch Dynex but the picture looks great and there is no lag. I can have both this tv on and the living room on at the same time standing between the two and there is no audible difference. I have not tried playing video games with this.
This accepts two HDMI and two component and feeds out one HDMI. I have the cable box and the DVD player going in as component and it works great. Also, the IR transmitter works really well too. I can use the cable box remote in the kitchen and it changes the channel on the cable box in the living room. It also picks up the signal for turning on and off the receiver, but unless I don't have something setup right it won't turn on and off the transmitter. I have the receiver hung on the wall behind the tv - it came with the two screws and two drywall anchors to put it up. I turn the receiver and transmitter off when not using it so it would be nice to be able to leave the remote in the kitchen, but not a huge deal.
Customer Review: Unexpected Summary: 4 Stars
My friend and I have been looking for a wireless HDMI setup for some time now. We've tried the Sony Bravia Wirelesslink, and we both ran into the same problem. That unit sends video, but no audio to a Samsung LCD. In addition, there was a lag in the video. The video quality was good, but not exceptional. Then as I was returning that unit, I found this. Figured it was worth a try. Let me just say..I'm glad I did.
This is near perfect. The video quality is better than the Sony. Unfortunatley, there's no 1080p, but 1080i works just fine for me.
Pros:
No lag in transmisisons
IR Repeater allows everything to be tucked away from plain site
Easy to install
Easy to setup
Works really well with no interference to video/audio quality
Cheap in comparison to other available products
Cons:
-Upon initial setup, the reciever was dropping in and out in connection. I ended up following the instructions and changing the recieving channels, after that I haven't had an issue.
-The remote that comes with it is bare bones, meaning another remote to manage. If only it was like the Sony unit that could replace other remotes..
One additional thing I would like is the option to add additional recievers to the sending unit. Otherwise, this unit has more than exceeded my expectations.
Customer Review: Buy this instead of the Philips SWW1800/27 Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this and the Philips SWW1800/27, to compare them. They work IDENTICALLY, and based upon my examination of the outside of both devices, I would be willing to bet that they both use the identical components inside. All of the ports on the rear of both the receiver/transmitter devices are in the EXACT SAME POSITION. They both use blue LED lighting on the front of each device, in the EXACT SAME POSITION.
I think Philips and BriteView bought the same components, wrapped different exteriors around them, and Philips is using their name brand to charge more than twice as much.
I am using these devices to transmit through 1 wall, across about 25-30 feet of space, and they both worked identically. Occasional 'blip' in the audio stream, but overall pretty good. They both had the same problem with 1080p video, namely that it doesn't work real well. I tested this with a PS3 set to 1080p output. Both devices failed to transmit video. My guess is, since they both support 24p 1080p, they would work OK if I started playing a blu-ray at 24p and then turned on the transmitter. But since the 1080p output by the PS3 starts out at a higher refresh rate, initially they do not work.
As my goal for these was simply to stream normal 1080i video, it didn't concern me too much. I am keeping the BriteView and returning this Philips model.
Customer Review: surprised this crap out of me. Summary: 4 Stars
so i had been waiting over a year for the belkin firefly (wireless HDMI) to come out but belkin let me down and said they were cancelling the firefly; i started looking elsewhere for solutions when i came across this one.
sceptical of it's price since the firefly from belkin was going to cost me $1500 i decided to try it.
setup was simple - i had it running in about 10m. quality is impressive for 1080i @ 60hz. my tv does 120hz so 60 seemed like it would be a let down - it's not. quality is good - i can't say it's as good as it being plugged into the back of my tv directly mainly because a direct connect is 1080p @120hz for me.
since my main reason was because the cable connection is on the otherside of the room there was no equitable comparison.
my only gripe is that my apple tv looked blanched out at 1080i over component video - switching to HDMI was fine. so be mindful of that. that's the only reason why i gave it four stars - had it not required me to use HDMI for appletv i wou'dve given it 5.
the other solution i considered was the one from gefen but that only did 1080i @ 30hz for $800. hardly seemed worth it for me when this is half the price and better.
