Customer Review: Works on G12, But Not as Good as OEM

Not bad for the money so far, charged a couple of times. Works with the Canon charger and G12's battery level indicator. But it's about half ounce lighter, and charges to a slightly lower voltage, than the Canon battery. And while both it and the Canon battery runs out shortly after the battery indicator goes on its last bar, the Zeicos quits sooner after getting on that last bar.
Also I'd rather they printed the text directly on the battery case than on a transparent stick-on label. If I do buy another aftermarket battery for my G12 I'm going to try a better but more expensive brand. While this is working fine for now, and it seems to have similar run time going by seat of the pant estimate, it hasn't inspired confidence in long term durability or performance.
By the way when the G12 battery indicator go red it's best for the longevityof the battery not to push it much further. Mine goes red when the battery had a bit over 3.5 volts on the low side, the high side (dual voltage battery depending on the contacts measured, high side is two battery units inside connected in series) is about twice that but I can't recall what it is now. LiIon batteries last longer when they're charged before they get really low. Going lower than 3.5v won't kill it right away, and I would push it if I really needed more shots and don't have another battery. Otherwise quit shooting or put in the spare battery when the red light comes on.
