Zeikos is marketing a lens hood that is designed to work with both wide lenses and telephoto lenses, and the design works. The hood is made of flexible rubber that folds back. So, you can fold it back for use with a wide-angle lens and then extend it to full length for use with a telephoto lens. And it folds back almost flat when you put your camera in its bag.
When the hood is fully extended it is big and wide. That size relates to its 58mm mount and its ability to work with both wide and tele lenses. But, its size and bulk can look a bit odd on a smaller camera...this is a utility item, not a fashion item.
With my Canon S5's 36mm lenses, there was vignetting of the corners of photos when the hood is fully extended, but it works fine when the hood is folded back to its wide angle position. In any position, the hood casts a shadow on photos with the built-in flash of the Canon. Check with your flash, as this may not occur with every camera.
The thread mount worked smoothly, and the rubber used for the hood is beefy and of good quality. This hood looks and works a lot better than its tiny price.
