Customer Review: It does not work with Nikon D5000

I bought this battery as a backup for my Nikon D5000. When I inserted it into the camera after it's been fully charged the camera's LCD display showed a message saying the battery is incompatible and thus cannot be used in this camera. I took it out and reinserted the Nikon battery and everything works fine again. I checked the Zeikos ZE-ENEL9 with a voltmeter and found the terminal voltage was fine. The only thing I can think of is that Nikon D5000 has a chip or smart circuit that rejects non-Nikon batteries to force you to buy Nikon ENEL9.
