Yes, it's sturdy, Yes, it's sleek, Yes it's made of aluminum but does it cool your laptop? NO!
It does nothing to cool down my blazing hot laptop. As another reviewer put it you
can't even feel any air from the fans. Maybe USB doesn't carry enough current to
really push enough air (much like the weak internal fans inside my Macbook Pro).
I'm going to send it back and find something that actually
has powerful fans.

I own an alienware gaming laptop and it tends to overheat when I play videogames and shut itself off. I purchased this cooler, and I've not had the same trouble since. My computer core temperature is much cooler to the touch. I like the way it looks and was surprised at how cool the metal feels right out of the box. I recommend this for people struggling with machines that overheat. It worked great for my Alienware M15X and fits it perfectly.Customer Review: its really quiet

not only do I not hear it, it keeps my toshiba p105 really cool even with games playing. With my old cooler my laptop would shut down while playing games. My old cooler keeps my laptop cool but this keeps it on average about 5 degrees cooler and is barely audible. My old cooler was a lot louder and blew more air around but somehow this design is better. This is a quality product, lifts and cools the fast processor in an HP Envy 17" notebook. Works well, is large enough to fit this large notebook on the base. Aluminum makes it sturdy, the only dislike is the single USB port. The fan in the cooler plugs into one USB port on my notebook, and provides a single USB port to compensate. I bought it for my 3 years old thinkpad T60. After 3 years using, the laptop becomes super hot. Temp of CPU can easily reach to 85 or 90 degree even higher when I watch video or open many applictions. I looked over many similar products and believe this is the best choice for my laptop. Now, the temp of cpu is fluctuate around 65, very impressive. I would recomemnd this cooler to anyone who need.
