this is the best cooler i have for my hp zd 3000 laptop this laptop is a monster and needs alot of cooling i used other fans but the size was small and the fans were not adequate. the zm-nc2000 was the fan i should have bought in the first place. a bit pricy so i skipped it the first time but after all failed i went with this one and was the best decision i made. it is built very sturdy. Also the usb at the side is easy. also get fan speed control.
you get what you pay for. also it has fans in the bottom you cant block the bottom so not being used on my lap.

It's almost same as Zalman NC1000, but it is bigger

IF you have 15.4 inch laptop or bigger buy nc2000
if you have 14.1 or smaller buy nc1000.
when I touched I felt coool. Aluminum was really cooler than plastic cooler
there are 2 usb ports and cooler via usb, so you will get one usb port
it's expensive but durable. read review of the other product. you can find a lot of 1 star review.

I really liked this notebook cooler because of the cool design and its efficiency (worked well and very quiet). However, it was too big for my 15" MacBook Pro. The rubber feet on top were too far apart from each other and from the bottom rubber strip. Also, the one I received was not perfectly flat. There was a slight bump on the right side of the cooler, so one side of my laptop kept sliding, and I ended up returning the cooler. My silver ZM-NC2000 looks very nice and functional but I am VERY disappointed that it didn't come with the usb cable that is needed to power the fans. I contacted Zalman the manufacturer SO MANY times. Unfortunately they are not in the US (maybe) so I could not call them but instead emailed both their Tech Support AND Sales email addresses. Nobody replied at all! All I want is the USB power cable! Because of this mistake, I am not happy with paying more than $60 for a cooling pad. :-(Customer Review: Very much not as I expected

I bought this product due to the reviews it received. I researched for 2 months on a cooling pad for my 17-inch laptop and this seemed to be the one that would fit, but when i got it. It didn't live long or up to the great reviews. My unit still get's hot to the touch. the USB cord pretty much stopped working on it's own. i'm not sure what this unit can do for me now..and it's only been a 5 months. I will definitely be contacting the manufacturer to get this unit replaced.
