The title says it all. I was skeptical about spending so much on a cooling pad for a laptop as there are many cheaper ones out there but now I am a believer. This thing is absolutely whisper quiet you never know it is on except you look for the light. The RPM of the fans are about half the speed of my previous cooler but this is way more effective. The fan in my laptop is louder than it but that's alright because it almost never comes on now:- that is how effective the cooler is, my laptop fan stays off. I am very happy I took the plunge to buy this, I personally recommend it you will not be sorry, stop wasting time with those flimsy low quality ones get the best.Customer Review: Pretty but doesn't do the job

I got this to replace a cheaper,flimsier, noiser product based on Zalman's quality PC coolers plus reviews for this product here and elsewhere. I use my laptop for intense computation and it gets very hot even with cooling.
The Zalman is slick and quiet and pretty and it doesn't cool worth beans. With the Zalman the CPU temp was reaching 80C on a regular basis. Tried spacers to increase airflow and that merely decreased the frequency the alarm went off.
Bottom line: the cheap Targus keeps it cooler by more than 10 degrees C. Very disappointed with the Zalman and am shipping it back.

This cooling pad really works great! It cools down my computer significantly. When you touch the cooling pad, your fingers will feel that the pad is much cooler than your body temperature. The USB cable is included in the box. When you take the cooling pad out of the box, look for the USB cable in the box because it is packed in a separate plastic bag. You might mistake it for stuffing material. Perhaps this was why one reviewer complained that there was no USB cable. I now can put my computer on my lap without "burning" my thighs. A great gift idea for family and friends for Christmas and birthday.Customer Review: BIG THUMBS UP!

I bought this product as a replacement for the Antec Notebook cooler. This this as AWESOME! The two fans create a great flow up air up through the holes in the 3mm aluminum plate. This is perfect for my Dell XPS m1530, since the air intake is on the bottom of the laptop. This cooler keeps my system nice and cool, even when gaming. Very quiet, adjustable speed, aluminum plate is always cold to the touch!
I cant recommend this cooler enough, it is a fantastic product.
Also, this cooler is best for 15.4". Go for the NC1000 if you have a smaller system

i got a Gateway P-173X FX Laptop for gaming, the coolers i used before didnt work becouse the weigth of the laptop, so i need it a cooler that was solid enought and big enought to fix my 17" laptop.
ZM-NC2000 you can change speed of the fan which draws its power from a computer usb port Through a not so long cable to the power supply of the Cooler(Right side)... you gain the usb port on the left side of the cooler.
the computer puts your laptop on a small but good angle.
it easy to carry and the cable got its own storage on the Pad.
