Customer Review: Get what you pay for..

This is probably the best notebook cooler on the market. I bought this model (NC200) to use with both of my 15.4 Sony and 17" Mac Book Pro. It fits my MBP just like it is designed for it. The Sony has 1/2" left all around. I have no heat issues with my Sony, but the Mac could be quite hot after a couple of hours running. Steve Jobs hates fan noise, so my MBP is totally quiet, but gets realy hot after awhile.
This cooler seemed to solve the heat issues with my MBP, but it is not ultra quiet like advertised or as other reviewers' experience. At maximum speed, as my MBP needs, it has sort of a high pitch noise. Adjust it down to about half and it sounds like a normal notebook. But it is much quieter than all other coolers I have tried.
As far as cooling, you can not go wrong with this. The cooler is well engineered, I felt no heat from either of my notebooks when I used it. There are 2 USB ports, one on each side of the cooler so you actually gain one more port. It is very good workmanship with thick, nice looking aluminum housing. I picked the silver one to match my notebooks. I expect to get a long life from this notebook cooler.

I've had the ZM-NC2000 for almost 2 years and it works great without any problems. I have a 17" laptop which gets fairly hot to the touch without cooling. This cooler fits my laptop perfectly and keeps it significantly cooler. So much so that I can have the cooler/laptop combination on my lap for hours without problem. Also very good looking and whisper quiet.
A word of warning if purchasing a laptop cooler: be sure whatever cooler you buy is compatible with the airflow on your laptop. This unit blows air upwards on to the bottom surface of the laptop, which works great for my laptop because it draws air in from the bottom and exhausts out the side. The first cooler I bought (don't remember the manufacturer or model) worked in reverse, so that it was drawing air away from the bottom surface of the laptop, in effect fighting the laptop fans for air. It kept the laptop case cooler, but after a month of two, the motherboard fried out and needed to be replaced. Not absolutely sure the cooler caused the failure, but I suspect it contributed. Fortunately, the laptop was still under warranty and the motherboard was replaced for free.

I received the Zalman ZM-NC2000 fan-driven aluminum top notebook cooler about a week ago and am using it with a
13-inch Dell laptop. I can't comment on its durability yet. What I can say is:
Pros: Our 13-inch laptop sits on the cooler without slipping or sliding, the cooler top is heavy-guage aluminum, the two fans have an adjustable speed control dial, the fans run quietly even at high speed, at low speed the two fans circulate plenty of air, you don't need to plug the unit into a wall outlet for power - it receives its power from the laptop via an included USB cable, it has an on-off button so you don't have to unplug the cooler from the notebook to turn it off
Cons: The included USB cable is only 6 inches long which may require you to purchase a USB extension to actually connect the laptop to the cooler (for me an extra $15.00 expense). At $62.00 a high-priced device compared to many other notebook coolers on the market but in this case I think you are getting what you pay for-a high quality product

This cooler is full aluminum on top for maximum heat dispersion, with a plastic casing on the underside for easy air flow. The fans in this machine are fantastic and exactly as stated. Ultra quiet! I have the fans on maximum and I BARELY hear them when the TV and stereo are turned off!
In terms of cooling power, I measured my GPU temp at an average of 54 degrees prior to the cooler, and after Zaman Cooler setup my average GPU temp is now at 41 degrees!!!! That is a HUGE difference! MUCH better than other coolers!
One other note that I REALLY like is the slanted structure of the machine. It forces your laptop up at a slight slant, but it makes it so much more comfortable to type!
Overall, this is the one product that I purchased from Amazon that I am completely satisfied with!

Customer Review: This thing really cools my hot labtop computer

I worried how my labtop can pass this hot summer. My room, where I work most of time, gets really hot because the sunlight hits windows straight from the sun in sunset. My labtop becomes heated right away when I turns it on and it makes me anxious if the hard drive or the graphic card burns out by any chance.
This product saved the life of my labtop. It really cools my labtop down even my room temperature rises to almost 100 degrees Fahrenheit. I can feel the cool air like the air from any air conditioning system. Now, I can run any applications based on powerful graphic system anytime and anywhere I want it to be.
Only con I have on this product is locations of the holes. My labtop's graphic card is located back side of the notebook, as consequence, it becomes hottest spot, but the holes never reach this place unless I slide down my labtop toward me. Other than this, I am happy with this product.
