Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of XFX PVT44AWANG GeForce 6200 256MB GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card (VGA/DVI/S-Video)Customer Review: So far, so good Summary: 5 Stars
So far, so good
In the past 2-3 years I've had to change my video card twice. Both of the previous cards had issues with the cooling system (the fan died or burn capacitors). I'm not a hardcore video gamer, but I can tell you that the quality picture/video I'm getting with this card are worth every penny of its cheap price. I play a lot of Warcraft 3 and WoW. Every now and then I play a shooting game.
I highly recommend this one if you don't have a PCI-Express port and if you're looking for an excellent price-effective card. The drivers are very updated and it's very easy to set up and adjust to your needs.
Hope this short review can help you decide...
Customer Review: Excellent Service from XFX Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the XFX GeForce 6200 as an upgrade for a Emachine with onboard video(8 megs of video memory). It installed easily and quickly. It worked for three weeks, then just quit. I contacted XFX and wwas directed to their return department. After the normal "make sure it is the card", I was given a return authorization. I received an email after they received the returned card telling me the card had failed their testing. I received a replacement card with four days. One added plus to all this is XFX has a "lifetime" warranty. Not only am I covered, but if I should sell my computer, the next owner will be covered also, for as long as the card is registered.
Customer Review: Everything I wanted. Summary: 5 Stars
My old video card was getting outdated. I wanted a good bang-for-the-buck video card to speed up desktop performance and to allow me to enjoy the latest desktop effects. This card gave me all of that. In Windows XP, I use it with the latest WindowBlinds features. In Ubuntu Linux I use it with all of the features of Beryl and Emerald. And in both cases everything moves fluidly without hesitation. In both cases, I installed the latest drivers from NVidia's website. (For Ubuntu, don't bother with "Restricted Drivers" and such. Search ubuntuforums for the topic "How to install Nvidia drivers" with the comment by x1a4. It's easy.)
Customer Review: A Worthwhile Upgrade on a Tight Budget Summary: 5 Stars
This video card works great. It was easy to install, hardware and software. I can tell that my Windows system is running much faster and more efficiently thanks to this new card. I was a bit concerned about power issues (I think my desktop's PSU is rated at 180-200 watts), but so far I have had no power issues. If you have an old AGP desktop that's running sluggish, this card is a good upgrade on a tight budget. And because the card uses an nvidia chipset, it is supported more in the Linux world than other brands such as ATI. I have not played any graphics-intensive games yet, but for the cost, you get plenty of bang for your buck.
Customer Review: Excellent item for price. Excellent for upgrading to Vista. Summary: 5 Stars
Pros: Bought a couple of these. Excellent quality AGP card for the price. Dual heads, allows you to use 2 monitors. Low profile. XFX sells a low profile kit which includes an adapter for this card. It allows you to get relatively powerful graphics into a small case which has only low profile expansion slots. Vista is a CPU, Memory, and GPU hog. This is probably the most affordable way to upgrade a board with an AGP slot for Vista, and get compatibility and good performance with all versions of Microsoft's new OS.
Cons: None, other than I wish I got more of XFX 6200s, and that the card can't fix all the bugs in Vista.
