After reading the mixed reviews, though most were on the plus side, I hesitated for quite some time before I ordered. My sister ordered the Wolverine that only does the slides and negatives, but I had a use for this one that also does the pictures, the Wolverine Data SNaP100. I have literally hundreds of Polaroid pictures and thousands of slides and negatives I want to digitize. My sister was very happy with hers and encouraged me to purchase one. She said she uses an SD card and digitizes 100's of shots before actually dumping them onto the computer into iPhoto (we both have Macs with iPhoto) as this would save a lot of time. It does.
I ordered my Wolverine Data SNaP100 straight from Amazon, and it arrived 2 days before the estimated arrival time. It was exciting to open the package and set it up. I have now done about 50 negatives and that many old Polaroid pictures and then dumped them into iPhoto. Wow! The pictures look exactly how I expected. I know some have given this machine the thumbs down, but my experience has been what you put into the machine to digitize is as good as what comes out of it. It's awesome. I just cut part of the white bottom off the Polaroid pictures and tape them into the smallest frame; it works great for me so far.
I plan to take this machine with me when we go away for a weekend and in my 'spare' time work on some photos, saving them to an SD card. I like the option of being able to plug the machine into a wall outlet OR the computer, and not having to be right near a computer.
I still have a couple very large crates of pictures and negatives and slides that belonged to my parents to digitize, then I can share with other family members. It's so rewarding to see the actual pictures that have come from these decades old negatives. Who would have thought we could ever do such a thing ourselves!
