I know the title is odd but this is the best spent 40.00 verses a 150.00 speeding ticket. My husband uses this is his work truck for his running about town and just around our home. It's perfect and inexpensive and he doesn't worry about someone stealing it compared to a expensive one we use for long distance traveling.Customer Review: No frills radar detector

Goods: Price. The radar detector seems to work as well as older, higher priced models I have used in the past.
Bads: Can not adjust brightness, although it isn't too bright at night. You get a bright glare from the silver buttons on top of the radar detector depending on the angle of your windshield.

Recently purchased this RD, and it works great. Saved my butt several times already. I have a more expensive older model, and it's just as good.
BTW, I had the speaker blow out on my older model, and I sent it to Whistler and they repaired it for a very minimal charge. Happy with the customer service.

Our kids got this for my husband for father's day. He loves it. We laughed the other day, we had set the radar detector on the floor when we made a stop and forgot to put it back on the windshield. It detected radar from the floor, we were amazed!
We would recommend this to anyone, great price

Doesnt even work. Drive by cops all the time and it never goes off. While some may not have radar on at the time i pass, at least a few must and I mean it NEVER goes off. Unless I go near the schools in town (must pick up their security systems or something). I don't even bother plugging this in anymore.
