Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Whirlpool Duet HT : WFW9200SQ 27 Front Load WasherCustomer Review: Only lasts a few years, and Whirlpool has the WORST customer service Summary: 1 Stars
After only having this washer for a few years (and paying about a grand for it), the bearings have gone bad and will cost us about $400 to fix it. The worst part about it is that the repair guy told us to call whirlpool, that this is a very common problem with these washers and they should cover it. Whirlpool was totally unhelpful and informed us that it is out of warranty, so there is nothing they can do. I told them what the repair guy said, and their response was "well, there is no recall out." Whirlpool is currently in litigation over one of their other washers- same thing, lots of repairs and no warranty coverage or recall. Sooo, we will never buy another whirlpool item again, which is too bad since all of our appliances are made by them and were quite pricey. They will be losing a lot of business from us, all to save a few bucks.
Customer Review: Worked well - for 6 weeks! Summary: 1 Stars
We went to our local appliance store intending to buy a different model. The salesman recommended the Whirlpool Duet washer because of its high rating and lower incidence of repair. We bought it and it worked well for 6 weeks. Then just went dead with a load inside and the door locked - no response whatsoever. After doing a Google search, I was able to find a way to open the door manually and remove my kids' baseball uniforms. Knowing our local service rep., it will probably take 1-2 weeks for repairs.
I really regret spending the money I did for a machine that only made it 6 weeks before its first failure. I am also unhappy that Whirlpool did not include instructions to open the door manually in case of electrical failure.
Customer Review: Leaking!!! Like Crazy!! Summary: 2 Stars
My laundry room was full of water!!! I took the panel off and checked the filter thinking that maybe it was clogged (again) and that is what caused the leak. There was one baby sock in there. I removed the sock and plugged the washer back in. I tried a rinse cycle and the water started pouring out the bottom. The rubber seal around that connects the door and the tub has come completely off! The water is running down the door and straight out the bottom!!! There is a round metal thing hanging down, how am I supposed to re-attach it? I can't afford the repair man again (Christmas time)and my warranty has just run out (typical).
Customer Review: Buyer beware Summary: 1 Stars
We bought the Whirlpool Duet HT pair 15 months ago. For the past two months, the washer has been failing intermittently with f70/f71 errors. The washer door must be kept open when not in use to prevent excessive mold growth/smell. Even so, frequent "clean" cycles are necessary.
Yesterday, the washer failed again with the f70 error. It will not restart.
A class action suit has been brought against Whirlpool for the mold issues with this model:

Customer Review: SD Green Guy Summary: 4 Stars
I really like the Whirlpool Duet that I have. I believe the pictures shown by another customer are the consequence of not reading the owners manual. The manual tells you that you have to periodically run the cleaning/bleach cycle to keep the machine from having mold issues. We do it monthly and have had no problems.
