Customer Review: Its a hard drive
Summary: 5 Stars

Nothing really cosmic about this drive. Pretty much plug and play. No jumpers needed. Plugged it in to my new build, threw windows 7 on it and I was up and running with no issues. I suppose a raptor an ssd would give you better performance, but I honestly don't think I'd really see much of a difference for the price:performance ratio.

The only thing I can say negative about it is this HDD is the only thing keeping my windows index score under a 7 with a super high score of 5.4

Customer Review: This drive is great, but Amazon is absolutely the best!
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered two of these drives along with an enclosure that was supposed to provide RAID 0/1 functionality. These drives are excellent, but unfortunately the enclosure would not work properly on my Windows 7 box; the RAID 0/1 functionality did not work.

I returned both the disk drives and the enclosure. Amazon made the process very easy, and gave me no trouble whatsoever about returning these items. Amazon is the greatest! They have earned my loyalty!

Customer Review: Didn't work well with my Pentium 4
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this item for my Pentium 4 computer. When I partitioned to 80 GB and installed Windows XP, the system went extremely slow. Computer could start up but hung after 3-4 hour usage. I suspect the Hard disk is faulty or may be my PC is too old to handle a 640GB H/D. Later I bought a 320 GB from a retail shop and it worked perfectly.

I returned this item but Amazon.com, handled the return professionally. I appreciate their service.

Customer Review: Right price
Summary: 3 Stars

The hard drive worked great I had to go online to get the product manuals and purchase the cables since it is a SATA II drive and my computer supports SATA I it took me several hours to make it work but once I figured out how to slow down the drive with the jumper which was not supplied it was a plug and play process. Make sure you know your system specifications before you order and get the needed cables and jumper & Screws all at once.

Customer Review: Big, Quiet, Fast, and Cheap
Summary: 5 Stars

I added this to an old PC I am using as a DVR via windows 7 media center. I use it to store all the recorded TV. It's silent, and big enough. If you record in HD you might want something A LOT larger. But, larger might be noisier. I'm not an expert, but I think this has two 320MB platters vs. 3 250MB platters in the 750MB. Two platters is theoretically quiter than three, but you'd have to check exact specs.
