I was intending to buy the white shoot through with the black cover as recommended by [...]. I didn't realize until I took it out of the box that it's a silver reflective umbrella. I kept it to use for occasions when I want more contrast and it wasn't worth the shipping to send it back and re-order the one I had wanted.
I still needed a shoot through for a sitting and ended up at Calumet buying one in person- they didn't have it in this brand so I ended up buying an even better one that opens up like a real umbrella (with the push button and with stronger wires). Anyway, most photogs know exactly what they are getting with these lightweight umbrellas, they are very light, but not very strong and the wires bend very easily so you definitely need an assistant or sandbags if you plan to use outside. Inside, it would not be an issue unless someone were to trip over it!
