Very happy with product!!! I'm using it to detect an overflowing clothes washer. Sounds when water touches it as advertised. Washer is in garage, 1st floor. Alarm is loud enough for me to hear from 2nd floor with garage door closed and furnace running in background but it isn't painfully loud like a smoke alarm. Package recommends better batteries for long-term use. Is a 'As Seen on TV' product.
Addendum 12/20: Just noticed the price increase. It went up by $10--now it is $50. Did the sellers raise the price for Christmas? As a consumer, I'd either wait for the price to come down again or search somewhere else.

I have a Reverse Osmosis drinking water filter system under my kitchen sink with a pressure booster motor. The booster motor developed a small leak and went unnoticed for a long time. The standing water caused a lot of damage. I repaired the motor leak and installed these water alarm sensors. My repair failed two weeks later, and the water alarm signaled the problem saving me another messy cleanup. I have since replaced the motor with a new one and have also placed water sensors under my other sinks, toilets, water heater, and clothes washer.Customer Review: Good & effective product for the price

I had a homemade (enough said) outdoor sprinkler system malfunction and the result was 4" of water in the finished basement! Luckily I had the sprinkler system timer set for only 2 hrs of watering! Now that I have purchased a Gretsch guitar and an amp and keep them in the basement and also just for the piece of mind throughout the house I have just purchased another 5 pack. I now have one under every appliance that uses water. I've conducted tests with these products and they've performed. We really love this product and a package of five is absolutely wonderful. It definitely works. However, we live in a ranch style home and enter the basement through the garage. We can't hear the alarm in our house. We've had a copious amount of rainfall and snow recently, and it seems every time we turn around there's a flood warning. We got a little water in our basement, the alarm went off, but we didn't hear it in the living area of our home. I'd give it 5 stars if we could hear it when it goes off.Customer Review: Recommended

Recommended. One advantage of Water Warning is it can be placed flat, or on edge--the latter is great for sliding behind appliances, between bookcases, etc., where other leak detectors may not fit. Installing batteries is easier than some other models out there and the fact Water Warning comes in a pkg of 5 makes sense, because most people will want more than one in their home. It's a good idea to use high quality alkaline batteries rather than the batteries which come with the package.
