I saw a lot of good reviews and some bad reviews.
I got this today. followed the instructions. loaded the cd on Windows 7 64 Bit AMD system. I followed the install, and selected get latest updates from the web.
It installed the software on the PC. Then I could select to update the firmware on the transmitter, one click did that.
Note: It could have been a little more clear and told you to remove the transmitter and put the receiver in the PC USB port. But when it came to updating the fw on the receiver it just said make sure only one device is attached to the PC. I had to figure out that I had to take the USB receiver unplug it from it's base and plug it into the USB on the PC. I plugged it into the PC and then clicked update. It got the latest FW and updated the receiver.
I then put the receiver back into the receiver power base and put the transmitter into the PC USB slot.
Followed the rest of the setup instructions and it is working perfectly.
It worked in extended screen mode and mirror mode. I am using it to transmit the PC main screen to the flat screen as my monitor. I can move the flat screen around with a wireless keyboard and get full performance video at the TV. I tried moving the monitor away and it worked up to 33 ft away line of sight from the transmitter. Lost signal a few times that far away. When I moved it behind a wall it lost signal. The receiver USB antenna is warm but not hot.
I am not sure what happened to the people that had problems but this has been great for me.
