Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Wacom Intuos3 4 x 6-Inch Wide Format Pen Tablet (PTZ431W)

Customer Review: As with the 4x5 Not designed with Lefties
Summary: 4 Stars

I would actually recommend if you're an artist to use the 6x8 which has express keys on both sides. While you can disable them, or reverse the tablet, this tablet which is the smallest one out of the intuos 3 series had right handed people in mind. Reversing the tablet makes it more awkward and uncomfortable for use.

If you're not going to use the Express keys you may as well go with the intuos 1 or 2, since i find this to be a major feature for the latest line of intuos. If you're going for geek bling and want a shiny new tablet I guess this is the way to go, but practicality wise, using an intuos 1 or 2 if you are left handed and use the smallest size is probably better and more affordable.

The wide format however will probably give you better accuracy for touch points from your tablet to match the screen.

Customer Review: The Wacom in Review
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this product its ease of use, connecting into the computer and how easy it is for even a beginner using the tablet. It was what I expected, with only one minor draw back, that being I should have gotten a bigger tablet.

Being an amateur artist I thought it would be great to get one an try it out, and I love it. The versatility I got with it it in both Photoshop and Corel has made it worth while.

Will eventually go up to 9X12 some time with in the next year and yes it will be a Wacom. If you are serious about art work and thinking about investing in a Wacom spend the extra money for a bigger tablet its worth it. If you are a beginner or someone who just dables a bit go for it. Its better than the cheap ones you get on the market. Its one of those instances you get what you pay for.

Customer Review: New to Tablets
Summary: 5 Stars

I am new to tablets, and still at the "beginning amateur" level of working with digital art. I opted for Wacom Intuos3 to create mixed-media art using Photoshop. The tablet was easy to install, and my daughter and I were doodling in no time. It's fun! I did invest the time to go through the tutorials, which were enjoyable, and a great overview to what the tablet can do. I am still learning the ropes with Photoshop, and appreciated that Wacom included the more "consumer-friendly" version of Corel Painter.

I haven't quite mastered reconcilling the 4 X 6 inch screen with the real estate of my monitors, and am wondering if there is some way to establish the boundaries of the tablet to synch up?

Overall, I think I purchased the right product to take my artwork to that "serious amateur" level.

Customer Review: Wacom Drawing Tablet Saves Student's Sanity!
Summary: 5 Stars

This tool saved my sanity! I am in a graphics design class and was having all sorts of trouble using a mouse for drawing. My brain says "drawing is done with a pen or pencil, not a mouse!" Gripping the pointing device as a pen made all the difference in my ability to complete my assignments.

Even the mouse that comes with the pen and tablet is like no other mouse I've used before. The mouse glides smoothly and there is NO resistance what so ever. I've only had this tool for about a week and still have yet to make use of all it's capabilities, but I am well on my way to making friends with Adobe Illustrator and Photo Shop.

If you are a graphic design student or even someone who is learning these fine tools on your own, buy a Wacom tablet before you even start the lessons.

Customer Review: Intuos 3 Delivers for the artist that likes to draw
Summary: 4 Stars

with the 1200 points of sensitivity, the Intuos 3 tablet is an affordable and easy to use piece of equipment for any illustrator. It is better than the bamboo or graphire, and if you are seriously thinking about what tablet to buy, but can't spend alot, this would be the one for you. It is one of the more expensive versions in comparison to the $70-$75 Bamboo, but the difference in sensitivity is starkly contrasted. If you are a beginner, then the bamboo might be alright to get used to the feel, but if you are needing more performance to enhance your digital capability, this is the one for you. Would recommend this equipment to anyone who has already used previous Wacom Tablets before, and needs a little better performance. Easy and quick setup, and you are ready to go.. Great tablet for the money.
