Customer Review: I like the pen but hate the mouse

I do like this product and I think it's very useful but I have to say that I am not as often in a situation where the pen is better than the mouse when I'm doing my designing. It's not as useful for working with fonts or when you get into the blending properties, etc. There is still a lot of call for the mouse. And the mouse would be a lot better if the pad were bigger, because once you hit the edge of the pad, the mouse no longer works.
The mouse is not as noisy as a normal mouse, it's perfectly comfortable but it would just be nice if I could use my old mouse along with the pen.
some people are saying that the mouse functions like the pen does, coinciding with the same position on the screen, but this is not true as you can change that setting. You can change it with the pen as well, so that it functions like a standard mouse and it's position is relative to where you put it down rather than matching the same spot on the screen (if you get my drift) which I find is easier if you're having trouble with the way it works by default.
so, it's a good buy at the price they are offering it for but the mouse is disappointing.

I have a Windows XP system with two 19 inch monitors, one of which is a wide screen format. I also have a MacBook Pro with a 15 inch monitor. This device works wonderfully on both systems.
My biggest concern when purchasing was whether the 4x6 inch format would be big enough for my needs. Well, it is. I think anything bigger would be cumbersome because my hand would have to move much more in sensitive drawing configurations.
Having said that, this is not a particularly easy tool to master. It integrates with Adobe Illustrator perfectly, but the nature of the tools change when you go from a mouse to a tablet. Once mastered, I can see how this would speed up many drawing applications, but it takes a good deal of continuous practice to get it down.
And the mouse that comes with this thing is practically useless. The 4x6 pad is way too small for the mouse to do anything useful on a wide screen. The mouse is just too big for the pad, and the mouse you are already using will work much better. Not a big deal, though, because no one buys a pad like this for its mouse.

This is an amazing product, I love my tablet! I purchased it thru Amazon and got it at the end of October and it's been wonderful ever since. It helps so much when working in Photoshop, I used to end up very tired using the mouse, but the pen makes all the difference in comfort and I can work a lot faster. I think I got used to it very fast, and I use it always, I don't use the mouse anymore.
By the way, I got the 4x6 inch tablet, which seems to be great, at first I didn't know if purchasing this size or a larger one, but since I don't have such a big working space plus the cost, I chose this one. And still, even if I had a bigger space I wouldn't purchase a larger one. If I were to upgrade someday it would be for the one that you do the work on the screen, not over a tablet...but its worth about 2000 USD.
I had made some research before among brands and thought that the best option was the Intuos from Wacom, and I still think it was the best choice. I gave it five stars because it is everything I expected it to be and more...now I just need a cover to protect it against dust.

This thing does everything you could want it to and more. it takes a little getting use to but in no time I was using it with no problem. i work with graphics and I've been wanting to get something like this for a long time and I'm mad that I waited so long. Don't wast your money and get a cheap one, spend the extras few dollars and get the good one. wait for a sale if you have to but yea, this thing is fun, easy, and well worth it. Just plug it in to a USB port and go.
It came with a mouse, a little pen holder and some different types of typs for the pen. The pen is like using a mechanical pencil that you click the led out with a finger button. there is a left and right mose button and to erase you just turn the pen over and erase like with a pencil. (you can also use the same feature in word and other office applications). the tablet has several buttons that you can set to do various functions for which evere app/program you are using and a handy touch scroll bar on the side.
I love this thing. I'm glad I got it. Wish I had sooner.

I did a lot of researching before choosing which tablet to buy. Every review I read online said Wacom was the only way to go. I have to say that they are correct. I am a first time tablet user and this so far has been a wonderful experience. I only have one issue with it. I'm a lefty and so when I draw, I keep hitting the touchpad.
I, like the person that gave it a 1 star review, used it on my WinXP desktop with a 20 inch widescreen monitor and it works wonderful. It gets every edge of my monitor. I'm not sure what they're problem was, but all I had to do was install the drivers from the CD and everything works great! I also plugged it into my Windows Vista laptop and it works excellent with that too. I have also had no problems with the mouse working.
I wasn't sure that 4x6 would be big enough to draw with but I'm loving it and think now that anything bigger would be a little bit too much.
I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to have a tablet for drawing!
