I wish I'd got this pen when I got the tablet. I didn't even know it existed at the time, but I also don't know why it isn't the standard pen.
Has Wacom done any testing which showed more people want the bulky pen than this thin pen? I'd guess more people would prefer this one. It's not quite half as thick in diameter as the big pen.
It's much more comfortable to use even if you don't have small hands. The bigger, bulkier pen has no advantages that I can see. Maybe if you're used to using a paintbrush all day, the thicker pen feels more natural. But this pen is like a writing pen and that's what I am used to using. It is a similar size, has a similar weight, plus it has a similar weight balance and feel.
It doesn't have the rubber grip of the other pen, which I think is a good thing.
The button for right-clicking works just as well if not better than the fat pen.
It's easier to clean and looks more durable.
The Classic Pen isn't marketed very well, but it's a winner, and it's reasonably priced. Long term I suspect it may even reduce the risk of arthritis, because it puts less unnatural stress on your finger joints.
I use the Wacom tablet for surfing the internet and Photoshop. It's perfect for both. I'm not going back to the old clunker.
