Customer Review: Cheap get cheap
Summary: 2 Stars

Problems:
1. I don't use a router for my internet; I connect directly to the modem with the ethernet cable. Whenever I will use this phone, my internet connection will be lost for aa few minutes. I have attached a DSL filter, moved this phone to another room but still the problem persists.

2. There is a problem with the display. When I press on the * sign, on the display it will show as this "|-". Imagine a plus sign + without the left half of the horizontal line. It's like a letter H cut down to the middle vertically.

3. When I press on # sign, an inverted A will appear. Why is that????

I am returning this product.

Also, this does not have an answering machine although there is a VOICEMAIL light on the base that will light up when you have voicemail. But I guess you must subscribe to voicemail with your home phone provider for a monthly fee.

PRO:
The only thing I liked about this is that the handset is not tiny. It is long. It covers from my ear to my mouth.

Customer Review: Basic cordless phone

V-Tech CS5111 5.8GHz Cordless Phone with Caller ID (Silver/Black)
I recieved this item this week, and find it to be a very goood item, woorthj the money.
It is a basic coordless phone, having memory,CID recall, excellant sound quality, very easy to program and use.
I bought it as a recon unit, thus had no manual.I downloaded one in PDF format from [...],and thus learned to program it and use it's full functions.
It doesn't have a voice mail(unless you subscribe to voice mail thru your phone carrier),but does have CID recall of missed numbers,so one can look up missed calls.
It has excellant range.I tested it to 100 feet from the base unit.It comes reconditioned with new three cell ni-cd batttery pack.
I would say it's well worth the askiong price if one wants just a basic, reliable cordless phone.

Customer Review: Does the job and at a cheap price
Summary: 4 Stars

My old phone was, frankly, big, clunky, and I was too lazy to clean the dust and grime off of it. Since I have been using my cell phone for many years almost exclusively, I only needed a decent quality phone at a cheap price and this phone fills the requirements perfectly. I like the looks of it but can't comment on any of the many features as I just don't use or have a need for them except for keeping the ringer off (but I imagine most phones have that feature these days). Has a good range from the handset and I've talked at length without having to put it back in the "cradle" or whatever to recharge.

Seems to dial slowly after you enter a phone # in and click "talk", but a minor annoyance. Seeing the phone # you dialed should be clearer or brighter but that would be the only downsides. For less than 20 bucks, it gets the job done and doesn't look like cheap junk.

Customer Review: Great Second Phone
Summary: 4 Stars

Sound quality is fine. An extra volume control button would be more easily accessible if placed on the base, as it is on the handset. The screen lets you see who's calling before you answer - gives name and number. It also shows who called while you were out. The receiver has some weight to it, but the base is very lightweight plastic. It easily gets knocked around on a desk. If it falls, something's bound to break. The base has a "Find Handset" feature that causes a misplaced receiver to beep.

The numbers on the keypad are encased in clear plastic. No worries about the numbers wearing off. The phone has speed dial, but I haven't used it. I don't use the voicemail either. The redial feature is nice. You can increase or decrease the volume off the ringer.

It's a decent phone for the price.

Try Walmart though. I paid $14.99 for mine.

Customer Review: I'm Impressed, I'm Cheap, I'm Listening, I'm Happy!
Summary: 5 Stars

After my home phone broke, I was looking for a cheap replacement. Like most households now are not using their home phones, I still keep a home phone just in case, and talk to the occasional telemarketer that get passed the Do Not Call list(j/k) Well I was looking for reliable, caller ID, high frequency that won't interfere with my wireless network, Back lit, and most importantly Cheap. I have purchased V-Tech before and had no problems. At first I was skeptical but I have come to give some cheaper brands a try. It is easy to set up. The buttons are nice and big, Caller ID back lighting is great, enough to see when it rings in the dark. It does not interfere with my wireless network which is important cause we have 4-6 computers/laptops connected. The sound is clear and crisp. You cannot go wrong with this phone and its price.
