Customer Review: good product unusual shipping route
Summary: 4 Stars

I'm happy with the phone(s): good clear sound, range, easy to use etc. The shipping info was inaccurate, however. It was supposedly shipped by UPS and when I tracked the package UPS still came up as the shipper. I was surprised to find the package was creeping up the west coast from Oakland and when it reached Washington it went north of me to Redmond then south of me to Elma ( I live east of Shelton on Harstine Island).Elma is only about an hour from me, but it took about 24 hours for it to make the last leg of it's journey. When I inquired with Amazon about the status of the shipment they informed me once again that it was coming by UPS and they controlled the routing. So I was surprised when the local mailman rolled up to the house with the package: it was shipped USPS, which explains the snail's pace and strange routing. All is well, just curious that UPS never had the package and no one caught on to it.

Customer Review: Low Volume
Summary: 1 Stars

While this phone looks great and had such high reviews, which made me decide to buy it, the volume is so low and I found my self saying "what, what, I can barely heare you, say that again.......etc" to everyone I called on that phone. I tried it on several people and while the volume was set to the highest level possible, I still had the same problem with each and everyone of them......I can barely hear them. My last call, I told my caller to hang up and I called them back on the my cell phone which was way better! Needles to say it went back that day. Disappointing.

The other thing that I found annoying if you try to multi-task by holding the phone with your shoulder as you are speaking and using both hands to do something else, you will keep on hitting the 'mute' button which will leave you and the caller in an ambigious state.

I totally don't recommend this phone.

Customer Review: Best cordless phone I've had so far
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had the AT&T phone for a little more than a month now and it's definitely the best cordless phone I've had so far in terms of range and sound quality. I got the model with 4 handsets and I'm going to get a 5th. I bought this one based on the postive rating by Consumer Reports; it's rated as the one with the best range for DECT 6.0. I've got the base on the first floor and have had the handset working 500ft into the woods. For comparison I've got a 5.8 MHz that starts fading out at 20FT from the house and an older 2.4 that would only go about 200FT from the house. The digital technology provides for crystal clear sound with no background noise or static; it's corded sounds quality without the cord. The speaker phone works well and the built in intercom is a nice feature. The intercom allows any handset to call any other handset and have a conversation just like any other phone call.

Customer Review: Nearly perfect
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this DECT 6.0 system to replaced an ancient corded phone system with a separate digital answering machine and caller ID box (a cumbersome, confusing mess of wires, etc.), and a single 900 MHz cordless phone mounted on my kitchen wall-plate. In a word, this is a "great" DECT 6.0 phone system with no real negatives. The AT&T SL8 series is a quality, feature-rich choice at a very reasonable price, but it's not quite perfect. For my taste, it's by far the most straight-forward attractive design, but there are just a couple of minor issues: 1)The remote charger bases are cheaply made with no rubber feet to keep the units in place and protect your furniture, etc. 2)The volume control on the right side of handsets is quite sensitive, and easily adjusted unintentionally while holding the unit during a call. Still, these are minor complaints, and I can highly recommend this system.

Customer Review: Great phone system--better than the panasonic dect 6.0 that I tried first
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been using the system for about 3 weeks and so far it is awesome, excellent clarity and also good range, which has turned out to be somewhat of a problem with cordless phones of late. All manufacturers seemed to have removed the antennas from them while at the same time increasing the gigahertz and that turned out to be a deadly combination that drastically reduced the range from what we used to get on the old 900 phones which had antennas. Since this one is a 1.9 and also has an antenna, I have my range back!

The phone is very user friendly and easy to set up. I cannot say enough good things about it (albeit I have only used it 2 or 3 weeks now. I had first bought a Panasonic 1034 dect 6.0 set. AWFUL range, awful reception. Calls would just go dead in the house for no apparent reason. I returned that set and tried this one and so far have been pleased.
