Customer Review: Great features, easy to use, battery lasts a very long time!

I got this a little over a month ago to expand my set of 5 to 8 handsets. I got the original system in November 2010 so I was already familiar with it. Follow the simple directions to register each one after charging them first for 16 hrs or more (overnight) and you will be up and running quickly. It took only 5 sec to register each handset. These things are light but can take a little abuse like dropping on counter or table. The battery lasts a very long time. I talked for 1.5 hrs and the battery charge icon didn't even go down one bar! The sound quality is excellent and I love the 50 number directory. Once you figure out how the name editing works (what keys move cursor or backspace-delete or enter a space) to enter a phone number into the directory, it will be very easy. I wear hearing aids which come out when I get home from work but the volume from the handset is PLENTY loud for me. Speakerphone is clear not distorted and each handset can stand up on a flat level surface. Great for continuing to do chores or kitchen work while talking. The other person can hear you if you speak up from 5-6 feet away so the mic is good; no need to shout. Overall, finally, a really good handset. I've had 3 cordless systems in the last 11 years in this big house and this is the best so far. I have a wireless router and close neighbors and never have any interference or static, ever. Oh, by the way, any handset can page an individual handset. So if handset #8 is in the basement, the kitchen handset #1 can directly page handset #8 and talk quickly. And one important feature that wasn't on the feature list; this works like a cell phone when dialing. Just start pressing numbers and if you make a mistake, backspace and correct before pressing the "phone" icon to dial. My previous phone had to end the call, then get dial tone, and try again if I misdialed. Lastly, you can check messages from any of the 8 handsets and it shows the envelope icon if you have voicemail. This is a great phone system and Amazon had the best price.
