Customer Review: Works fine but plan before mounting!
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a solid mount for my 50" LG 50PK550 plasma. It's not the best, but works if you have a tight budget. There are a few very important things you need to know before drilling the holes in your studs!
1. You need to put a strip of 2x4 or 3/4" hardwood between the wall and the main plate! Otherwise, your TV will be too close to the wall, making it hard to plug cables into the TV! I ripped (2) 1-3/4"x13" of left-over bamboo flooring and drilled holes for the new 2" lag screws I had to buy (existing screws were too short). Even with this, there was barely enough space to plug the HDMI and power cable! Plug your cables in BEFORE mounting the TV!!!
2. DO NOT USE THE BUILT-IN LEVEL! Mine was not correct. You have to put a level on the top of the plate since it may be a little off.
3. The levers on the brackets to tighten the tilt position are not the easiest to use. I've seen better.
So far, it works good. If you have a bigger TV, you might want to spend a little more for better quality. This was my first wall mount so I dd not know how to pick the best brand or features.
4. The included 7 ft HDMI was nice, but I used a 15 ft cable.
In summary, this is a budget mount that works pretty well. Just a few issues.

Customer Review: Design could be better
Summary: 3 Stars

For the price, the wall mount is reasonably solid and good quality, although the shipping and handling cost at almost 50% of the wall mount cost is high. Perhaps that's how the company makes its profit through shipping rather than the mount itself.

Putting up the wall mount itself is fairly straightforward (although I did have an experienced contractor to do it as he was remodeling my kitchen too), but the clearance from the wall is very tight, and that makes tightening the two bottom screws to secure the bottom part of the TV very difficult, even with the many tools my contractor had. Plus, hooking up all the cables in the future (I have yet to buy a Blue Ray DVD,for example, and will connect internet and other computer cables) will also be a pain. I wish the manufacturer had highlighted the clearance issue better, so people can make the right choice before ordering.

The design should have some kind of flexible extender so that you can pull the TV out 5 or 6 inches to do your cabling, and then push it back closer to the wall. The price may not be the same, but I wish I had knownn that in advance so I can choose to pay more with a better design. Anyway, this is my first big screen TV after all.

Customer Review: Easy to install, great value!
Summary: 5 Stars

We recently purchased a flat panel TV (VIZIO XVT473SV 47-inch Class Full Array TruLED LCD HDTV 240 Hz SPS with VIZIO Internet Apps) for mounting above a fireplace mantle. We saw the mounts in store, but this appeared to be significantly less expensive and had great reviews, so we went with it. We are very happy with the purchase. The hardware (bolts and brackets) are extremely sturdy--I was able and more than willing to use everything that was included in the box. Installation was a breeze--it took less than 30 minutes, was straightforward and is extremely secure. The only reason why I am giving ease of installation a 4 instead of 5 stars is that the mounting screws for attaching the brackets to the TV are not labeled based on the type of screws that they are. My TV says exactly what I needed, but I found the screws through trial and error of the included screws. Otherwise, everything else went great!

PROS
* Incredibly sturdy
* Strong construction for stand, brackets, and bolts
* GREAT VALUE
* Ease of installation

CONS
* Could label the actual type of screws for attaching the brackets to the TV

Customer Review: Buy this mount! Great product.
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this product to mount my 50" Panasonic plasma television to the wall (dry wall with wood studs) in my basement. I thought I might need the tilt because of an overhead light but there is no glare. The mount is very sturdy and comes with a variety of screws for mounting many different television makes and models. The screws, washers and bolts are all good quality.

All of the negative reviews I've read were mainly due to poor planning, user error and/or lack of common sense. The instructions are fine. They assume you know how to use a stud finder, wrench, drill, screwdriver, tape measure, and do some basic math. If any of these things are a problem, ask for help or hire a professional.

Plan ahead. Mark out the approximate location of the television (all four corners) with some masking tape and make sure you're happy with the horizontal and vertical locations before you start drilling. Install the rails on the TV first and measure down from the top of the TV to where the rails rest on the back plate in order mount the back plate at the desired height. The level was accurate but I also used my own just to be sure.

This is a great product and would recommend to everyone

Customer Review: Plasma TV Mount- Free HDMI Cable
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this mount from Amazon because in shopping around at local stores the lowest price I could find was around $150. Out of the box it was just as nice as any of the ones I looked at in the stores. After reading another review I did go ahead and replace the lag bolts with a couple of nicer (and longer) ones from my local hardware store - I think I was out $4.50 for 10 of them. Is it necessary... I don't know, but just to be on the safe side why not its five bucks. I did like the built in level, but again just to be on the safe side I used a longer level - I think if you didn't have a longer level and had to go by the attached level it would be fine. Instructions were easy to read. Installation was fairly simple, took about an hour to have up with TV on it.

Mine came with a free HDMI cable also. I would love to review the cable also but as soon as I plugged it in the plastic piece split around the plug end. I did contact Amazon and even though it wasn't their fault they sent me a replacement cable (which works great).

All and all this mount is defiantly a buy, in fact when we get another plasma TV I will be buying another.

Thanks,
John
