Customer Review: Great Mount at Great Price
Summary: 5 Stars

After purchasing a 55" Television and deciding to hang it on the wall above the fire place i then began my search for a TV mount. I began looking at several retail stores in the area where i live but the mounts were so expensive i almost made the decision to hold off on mounting the television. I decided to go onto amazon.com which i have used several times to purchase items in the past. I found this mount for a very good price and ordered it. I received the mount very quickly and decided to go ahead and mounted it. It was very easy to mount and the level built on the mount made it even easier and just to be safe i double checked the level with an additional hand held level which was unnecessary due to the mounted level working perfectly. I have had no problems with this mount although i have not mounted the TV yet due to waiting on additional wiring from amazon that i also ordered. I can tell you that it will have no problem holding this TV up due to after mounting on it i grabbed the mounts that mount the TV and hung from them and the mounting bracket did not budge. I weigh much more than a 65 lb television so i can tell you that this is a durable mount. Don't buy TV mounts from retail electronic stores that are charging way to much for mounts. I saved alot of money buy putting my faith in this mount and could not be happier with the results. I can just hope that everything else i ordered for this project works out as well as this mount did.

Customer Review: Use your own bolts!
Summary: 4 Stars

When I went searching for a mount for our new 52" Samsung LCD, I found a wide variety of options (and prices), but this seemed like a good choice: inexpensive and relatively well-reviewed. As it turns out, it WAS a good choice. I would definitely buy it again, with the one caveat mentioned below.

The mount is made of moderately heavy steel and seems to be well-constructed. It arrived with a decent set of instructions, including information on how to attach it to different types of TVs. It took less than an hour to hang, and only 5 minutes to adjust to the proper viewing angle using two knobs on the top of the brackets. ONE TIP: Make sure you have all the cables attached BEFORE hanging the TV on the wall. Getting to the cables after it's up is nearly impossible, at least with our TV.

Now for the reason for the loss of a star: The bolts. As other reviewers have mentioned, the bolts supplied to attach the mount to the wall are of low-quality. I broke the head off of one of them while trying to tighten it. As a result, I have the butt-end of a bolt in my wall where I can't get it out, and I had to find an alternative position for the mount.

Lesson: Don't even try to use their bolts. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy some decent lag bolts. The price difference between this mount and anything else like it easily covers the cost of the bolts.

Customer Review: Solid mount and a good bargain.
Summary: 4 Stars

Mounted my Samsung 50" plasma using this mount. My display is about 70 pounds.

Installation was fairly simple. The back plate is 30 inches wide, so you will only be able to get 2 studs max. Important points:

1. It is very important to make sure the lag bolts drill into the studs.
2. The included hardware is iffy, so go spend the $5 at your local hardware store and get some better bolts.
3. The level on the back plate is not 100% accurate, so make sure to use your own.

The important thing to to measure where you want your holes and then measure them again and then make sure everything is level.

The construction of the mount and rails felt very sturdy.

For those that have never mounted a tv before there are 2 parts. A back plate that bolts on to your wall and then 2 rails that bolt onto the back of your display. You then place your display on the backplate. The rails have hooks to secure it onto the plate and then screws at the bottom to make sure it doesn't come off.

Distance between the back of the display and the wall is about 2.25 inches. This is fairly tight and makes it difficult to hook up cables, so make sure your cables are hooked up before mounting the display.

Customer Review: Great Product at a Great Price
Summary: 4 Stars

The product comes in a nice packaging; with all different types of mounting bolts (for various TV configurations) neatly packaged and clearly labeled. I ended up with nearly 20 extra bolts, washers, etc -- just to show the flexibilty of the design and packaging.

The product itself is of high quality materials, a nice black paint finish, great organized packaging -- all 5 stars.

I installed a 50" plasma (Panasonic) on to this mount - works great for this.

A few things I came across during the installation that gives the 4 stars:
a) The back support plate has a level (bubble indicator) on it (awesome!!) -- but the bubble wasn't actually level on the plate itself, causing me to mount it less than level (augh!) and re-mount the plate with my own level.
b) The installation instructions are pretty poor as they provide a generic one to fit any TV from 32"-60"
c) Trying to calculate what height to put the support plate (step 1) is a bit of an art unless you hook up the mounting brackets on the TV FIRST (step 3 in the instructions...) -- causing me to mount mine at height different than intended (and now have two brackets hanging out underneath the TV).

Overall, for $34 (versus $99-$129 at Best Buy) a GREAT value!!!

Customer Review: Great Mount! Don't Pay $200!

This is a great mount for my 60" LG Plasma. Took less than 30 minutes to install and it was really simple. The hardest part is measuring to get the mount right where you want it. From there you just drill four pilot holes. Screw in the four lag bolts. Attach the arms to the back of the TV. Lift TV into position and you're set. Unless you have a really crazy wall situation you don't have to worry about mounting this dead center. There's room to mount this slightly off center and still have the TV centered. The TV simply slides along the track at the top and doesn't have to be centered on the mount itself. The second tricky part is attaching the cables to the back of the TV. You may want to have two people hold the TV slightly off the wall while a third attaches cables. This mount sits as close to the wall as possible while still accomodating standard (not elbowed) cables. In fact, the component cables are bent at a severe angle on the wall. I haven't notices that this has caused any picture quality issues, so I actually like it, but if your cables install from the back rather than side or bottom you'll probably need helping from someone holding the TV away from the wall. I haven't tried the tilt, but it seemed simple enough. Great mount at a great price.
