Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Verbatim DVD-R 4.7GB 8X DataLifePlus White Inkjet Printable, Hub Printable 50pk Spindle

Customer Review: THEY ARE THE BEST!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used a lot of different kinds, TDK, Verbatim, Maxell, Memorex, Imation and several other cheap brands. I agree with everyone Verbatim "Printable" are great! I use an Epson R200 printer and never a problem. As far as disc errors, I use my Phillips burner in the Computer, an HP burner and my Stand-alone Go-Video, and these discs work marvelous with all the + and -. Matter of fact when I talked with Go-Video, they recommended the Verbatim discs
as being one very compatible with the Go-Video. I've got a lot
of discs from other people that would not work on my players, but I have NEVER made one using these discs that did not play
on whatever player the other person had. I would definitely
recommend them!

Customer Review: Higher Quality Ink-jet Printable DVD discs
Summary: 5 Stars

These Verbatim discs have the DataLife Plus layer of protection that will allow them to last 100+ years. I'm a professional photographer and it's crucial to store my client's digital photos and artwork onto a disc that will remain stable in years to come. I've tried many brands and types of discs and have lost data (read errors) many times but so far with the hundreds of Verbatim discs I've burned so far, I haven't had a problem yet. The Kodak brand discs were also excellent, but Kodak discontinued making them. SONY also makes a good disc. These discs can be printed on directly with an ink jet printer such as the Epson R200/R300/R320, and the surface area is printable right up to the hub! I have no reason to switch to any other brand as long as Verbatim continues to make a great disc.

Customer Review: Excessive skipping at higher burn rates
Summary: 3 Stars

I used to use this brand for in-house made DVD videos that play in computers and DVD players. I found that these discs skipped a lot, especially at higher burn rates, and otherwise started to fail pretty quickly when used a few times a day.

I work at a higher education facility and the DVDs get distributed/played in the library, where students have access to review materials. Needless to say, I got a lot of support calls for bad discs. When I switched to Taiyo Yuden and started to only burn at 1X, the support calls stopped (except for DVD software player issues on Microsoft platform).

I only use these discs now for throwaways or one-offs that are going to sit around or the data transferred to another computer, not for production.

Customer Review: Verbatim remains a high quality brand
Summary: 5 Stars

Since basically every other brand out there has turned to second and third tier DVD suppliers, Verbatim remains the lone hold out for those of us who want to reliably buy first tier quality blanks. These DataLifePlus blanks are supposed to have superior lifespan compared to other kinds, and I have some that I burned from three years ago that are still working fine. It's definitely worth a little extra to be able to burn once and never worry again.

I've burned about 20 of these DVDs so far without any problems, and I like the plain white top compared to the normally shiny and flashy designs.

Pros:
-High quality
-Long lifespan
-Plain white tops

Cons:
-None!

Customer Review: Wonderfulexperience wonderful product
Summary: 5 Stars

After spending 35 hours converting many family video tapes to DVD,
for our children and grandchildren. I wanted to put them on a media
that would be safe for MANY (30) years to come. I also wanted to print direct to the DVD's using my Ink Jet Printer. A good friend who is a VAR put me onto this product, and the process of not making labels by using this product to be able to print direct to the DVD, eliminating the chance of ruining our DVD players. The results were GREAT, our grand children are enjoying reviewing their childhood. I also learned what great parents our children are. But now I have many requests to do the same for the rest of the family. This speaks to the reaction of the whole family.
