Customer Review: Good sound but not for long...
Summary: 2 Stars

Folks

I am writing as a somewhat disabused customer...

As it turns out I have within the past six months purchased no less that 3 V-Moda Vibe Duo for my iPhone and they all have failed me in short time.

To be honest with the first one I was pretty careless and after two month of intensive use it started to exhibit some hissing / cracking which finally turned into no sound at all. Well, I purchased a second one and after about ONE month of carful use I lost all sound in one of the ear buds... Still in love in what I believe is a great product both in terms of features and sound quality I recently acquired my third headset and this time I have decided to be super super careful. No bending in my pockets, always delicate insertions, well you get it... Much to my dismay it failed me after TWO weeks.

In all cases there is no visual clue of anything being damaged but the internal connectors obviously did not survive my use... I don't know if I'm doing something special or if there is some design weakness but all I can say is that the no-name el-cheapo headset I have used in-between the times I did not have my VibeDuo is still in good shape (obviously no mike, no remote control, poor sound but it WORKS).

So beware - very nice but not durable IMHO

Customer Review: I don't get why people are complaining about these.....
Summary: 5 Stars

I used to use skullcandy's smokin buds. But after a year, they broke and I wanted to get a new one. My friends introduced me to vmoda vibe duos and I LOVED THEM~. I don't understand why a lot of people are saying that these are badly built... I had mine for over a year and they are still working fine. (I listen to my zune hd with them almost every day.) However, I know that the vibes (vibe, vibe duos, and vibe II are all different.)are not made very well. My little brother had it for about 5 months before it broke. The cording is made of plastic/rubber whereas the vibe duo chords are made of kevlar.

Even though, I put sound quality as 4/5 they are very good. After using these, bose doesn't sound all that great anymore. However, the main reason I chose 4 is because I found the monster turbines. The monster turbines have just as good sound quality but what made that one a bit better is the bass. There is a bit more bass coming from them than from the vmoda vibe duos.

However for the price, vmoda vibes are the way to go. [vibe duos cost 79 dollars retail, but monster turbines cost another 100 dollars totaling at 180 dollars.]

I am using my parent's account but if you want to ask me more questions about my experiences with this product, email me at [...]

Customer Review: Loved them, then they stopped working. Warrenty Denied.

UPDATE: BE WARNED!!!! V-MODA has denied my warranty based on the fact it was not bought from a Amazon reseller on their approved list. I have no idea who is on their approved list or how they can get away with canceling their warranty, but I would suggest NOT buying these headphones if V-MODA is going to stand by their product or their warranty.

Like a few other people here, I loved how well the headset worked with my Iphone and the quality of the sound was great. Then after 2.5 months the left side just stopped working. They did not start to go on and off or crackle first, they just stopped working after sitting for a night on my desk. Overall I am a light user and treated them with care.

I am half tempted to buy another set just to see if it was just bad luck. So if your thinking of buying be aware that there is some issue with the headset, but that until they go bad you will love them.

Customer Review: Won't work for more than 6 weeks of regular use despite 8/2008 re-design.
Summary: 1 Stars

***hind sight -- read only the iphone headset reviews citing at least 4 weeks of regular use. Don't read the reviews saying "I just got these..."***

Unfortunately I've been through 4 warantee replacements. V-moda did redesign the faulty plug in August 2008 (to a Y shaped plug which was supposed to be more durable) but my latest replacement broke in the same amount of time as the old design.

I like the sound and design (when it worked). They are "isolating" ear buds, so understand that option when selecting a headset.

I did follow the warantee policy and V-Moda was good at providing replacements, but doing without my headphones for 6 weeks at a time was an inconvenience especially with the $99 price tag in mind.

I decided to write off v-moda, treat my last v-moda warantee replacement VERY gingerly, and go with the native iphone headset when I need to be active. (i.e. v-moda is okay when sitting at desk -- do not use when washing the dishes, getting in and out of the car, etc.)

Until I hear about something more durable (or even better, a reliable, durable A2DP setup for iphone) I'll stick with the native iphone headset.

Customer Review: will i need them?
Summary: 3 Stars

let's talk about this item, i'm sure you search for information in the web, and you found something like " best iphone handset ever made" or " they are amazing you must have to buy them" even there are a couple web sites claiming that they are perfect, only show the pro, they don't show nothing wrong. But i have this item and this is my conclusion
do you really need them? ask yourself do i really need them?
like a handset they fulfill their function, you can listen to your music.
they also insolate external sound. but they're REALLY REALLY REALLY UGLY, they have a bad design. for that price i expected something better.
the iphone's original headset are really really cool.
other Bad feature, if your iphone is locked for more than one minute the call button can`t play again your music.
"the vibe duo nero" has a bad microphone, the other people may just listen to you. and The sound quality is nearly identical to the iphone's original headset.
conclution: don`t buy it.
by the way, there are some headphones for ipod, they are really cool, they don`t have call button but they can insolate sound too.
i never tried this one in my iphone. but you could do it.
