Customer Review: THE EARBUDS YOU'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR!
Summary: 5 Stars

These are without a doubt the best earbuds I have ever heard. Lets get to the pros and cons:

Pros:
Cool looking
Light weight
PERFECT FIT in my ear
Block out outside noises VERY well
Cord isn't too long (doesn't drag on the ground)
Cord isn't too short (you can keep your player in your pocket)
Includes multiple earpiece sizes
Cord doesn't get tangled very much while in pocket like many other earbuds
Don't hurt my ears like poorly made earbuds with terrible range (like Apple iPod earbuds)
EXCEPTIONAL SOUND QUALITY

Cons:
Not ideal for jogging because like pretty much any earbuds, the cord makes a lot of noise while moving around a lot
Very thin wires so take care

Other thoughts:
Be careful while opening the package, it's a little tricky and easy to break them.
It comes with this "Moda Wrap" thing to manage the wire. It's just a pointless gimmick since the wire isn't so long it needs to be wrapped up, and the Moda Wrap itself is rather heavy to have hanging down from the wire.
A lot of people say the bass is over powering. I don't feel that way. It just sounds nice and smooth, provided you don't have your player on an equalizer preset (that can mess up the sound quality).

Verdict:
I like these earbuds so much I plan to purchase another pair soon for when my current ones wear out through everyday use. Just the comfort, quality, and reasonable price sets them apart from the competition. BUY THEM, or if you're like me use Pepsi codes to get them free!

Customer Review: I'd Like to be Able to Give it a Higher Rating
Summary: 3 Stars

Let me start off by saying that I really do like the V-Moda Bass Freq's, I've ordered them four times now. Twice for myself and twice as a gift. For the price you pay for these, the sound is truly good. As suggested, the bass notes from these can actually make your brain feel like it's vibrating- it's that good. These aren't all about bass however and they do have good-quality mids and highs, as well.

The headphones are also unique in that you can pick your color to match your MP3 player or whatever skin you've slapped on it and I would get compliments on them a lot.

However-

The lifespan of these headphones is abysmal. With regular use you can expect to get about six months out of them. Yeah... it's that bad. On ALL FOUR pairs of these that I have ordered (Keep in mind that I've ordered two pairs for other people) the headphones have shorted out at the point where the wire leads into the jack. The Bass-Freq's are unique in that they do not have that exoskeleton-like rubber buffer on top of the hard jack and the wire at that spot gets A LOT of movement, which leads it to shorting out there.

I really would like to be able to give these headphones a Five-Star rating, the sound, looks and price are that good, but I just can't. The quality on these things sucks...

Maybe if V-Moda could place one of those movement-buffers on top of the jack like every other headphone set on Earth has, then I would buy them again. Right now, I'm actually on here looking for another pair of headphones and decided to finally craft my review for these.

Customer Review: 4.5 stars (if you want something that sounds and feels better...get these)
Summary: 5 Stars

These earbuds sound great. After test running these first immediately out of the box and then again at work last night, I'll say that I am very pleased with these V-Moda earbuds. I realized that Ipods are actually capable of producing decent sound and after cycling through my favorite Everything but the Girl and A Tribe Called Quest albums I realized how comfortable and powerful these buds were.

Recently, I purchased some el-cheapo JVC in-earbuds that almost turned me off to in-earbuds. They felt terrible in my ear, were prone to slippage and the in-ear inserts were actually hard. This on top of the fact that they did not sound any better than stock earbuds (which these V-Modas blow out of the water) I thought that I would give this design one more chance and I'm glad I did. These buds feel great and unlike those JVCs, they disappear (feeling wise) like the stock Ipod earbuds do.

And they handle low end bass exceptionally well. I hear no more distortion in my bass heavy or hip-hop songs and they sound as good as they do on high end car system speakers in my ear. They are also designed well. They come with this cool little plastic thing to manage the cord which makes them very portable, complimenting something like an Ipod shuffle or Nano.

I have one qualm. The cord seems flimsy to me. I get the feeling that these may not be the most durable earbuds out there. They may sound great, but that cord makes me wonder if they will be the same earbuds in six months. I'll have to wait and see on that one but as for now....I'm satisfied with these.

Customer Review: Just what I have been looking for
Summary: 5 Stars

I use an mp3 player for exercising at a fitness center, where the ambient noise level is high. Most earbuds that I have tried have had too low a maximum volume. Recently, I have been using a pair of earbuds (supplied with my player) that had good quality sound and higher-than-average volume. However, these advantages were cancelled out by but poor placement in the ear, resulting in serious reduction of volume and degradement of sound quality.

Frustrated, I decided to try to find good in-canal earbuds, settling initially on the Sony EX81LP earphones. However, I was disappointed upon receiving them to discover that their maximum volume was not nearly as high as that of the earbuds I had been using and that the basses were unusually weak, giving the sound an unattractively brassy quality. I found the over-the-ear frames cumbersome to put on. I also found that they detracted from my ability to keep the buds in the ear canal, since they were inflexible and forced the buds to enter the ear at the wrong angle. As a result, I was unable to keep a tight enough fit to block the ambient noise of the gym. To top it all off, after just two weeks the right earpiece lost most of its volume, rendering the earbuds useless.

After more research I ordered and received a pair of V-Moda Bass-Freq earbuds. Finally I had found what I was looking for -- high enough maximum volume for my needs, earbuds that fit neatly in my ear canals and stay there and a really rich sound spectrum, including, as the name implies, a satisfying bass level.

Customer Review: Great...for about 4 months, then its time to buy a new pair!
Summary: 1 Stars

Short version:
Pros: sound quality, price (good bang for the buck)
Cons: don't last long (both pairs broke after 4-5 months)
-Not worth the money!!!!

I have now purchased two sets of these headphones. I read reviews on CNET and here before deciding to purchase these. When I first received them, I was very pleased. The sound quality was much better than my previous pair (cheap Sony ones) and the medium ear piece fit well and was quite comfortable. However after about 4 months of using them, the right earphone quit working. I looked into getting them replaced by the manufacturer, but after paying having to pay for shipping both ways, it was hardly cheaper than buying a new pair and I didn't want to wait 4-6 weeks to get them back. So I decided to bite the bullet and buy a new pair since I was very satisfied with them up to the point they quit working. I figured maybe I broke them by pulling on the cord to pull my iPod (square Nano) out of my pocket. My second pair of headphones just broke with the same problem-the right earphone shorted out and I only get sound from the left one now. I was careful to always grab my iPod in order to get it out of my pocket (rather than pulling it by the headphone cord). I AM NOW DONE WITH THIS COMPANY AND THEIR CRAPPY HEADPHONES!! I have never reviewed any product online but I was so upset when the second pair broke I got online immediately and reviewed this product.

SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY AND THE HASSLE OF BEING WITHOUT HEADPHONES-DON'T BUY THESE!!!!
