This phone system and it's expandability is very good. The cordless phones are substantial and don't feel like plastic toys. But they are not heavy either. Sound quality on the phones is excellent with a speaker phone feature that allows you to actually hear someone on the phone.
Setup was a breeze for each of the cordless phones.
The answering machine illuminates well when in use. When listening to messages they are loud and clear. The time stamp feature is also nice.
Each of the cordless phones can access the messages on the base machine.
There are still some capabilities I haven't tried yet. Really a great system.

Just as I said--not compatible with Lingo phone service. We have had it about a year, and we have finally given up. It interfered with our cable internet connectivity (we are now currently using an old 900MHz phone and that works a lot better; as does our internet connectivity). We spoke with the rep from Lingo--he advised us that they have known issues with Uniden phones (perhaps it is with all phones!).
Also, even before Lingo, we had difficulties with the phone--dropped conversation, variable sound levels, that sort of thing. Maybe it was a bum set--we got it from Fry's on special. Nice looking phones, lots of frustration...

I did a lot of searching and reading reviews before I settled on this phone, and I have not been disappointed. It is reliable, crystal clear, and it's nice that it only needs one phone jack. I haven't had a moment's trouble with it, and I ended up buying one for my mom as well. The only thing that bothers me, and it's trivial really, is that for some reason you can't select ring tones for the base, so it rings different from all the satellite phones. However, that's a dumb reason not to like the phone, and since it's overflowing with good features - I highly recommend it!Customer Review: Love this phone

I bought this phone based on the Consumer Reports recommendation and I love it!
It doesn't interfere with my home wifi like my 5.8Ghz phone did. The baby monitor feature is great. Now I don't need a separate monitor. I also love that you can program numbers from any handset and then copy them to the other phones. I just copy to the base and then periodically copy all numbers from the base to the handset. The voice quality on the speaker phone is excellent. My 10 month old daughter "talks" to her grandparents who live overseas via speakerphone weekly.

you wont be disappointed, worth every penny, intuitive menu system...the monitor and intercom functions rock...with a new baby in the house I can ask for a hand from the other end of the house, no shouting, no squirming out from under a sleeping baby to go get something, great speaker phone quality on the handsets and the base means you can change a diaper or do situps while you talk. Additionaly the phone has good weight, great reception and the built in answering machine eliminated two cords from my wall, it is also easy to use, don't scrimp get the three handsets!
