Customer Review: I use these in my phone-based office...love it.
Summary: 4 Stars

I have a small business that lives & dies by the telephone. We have all the internet based stuff but continue to rely heavily on land line communication. I tried several other systems that left MANY things to be desired-mostly I couldn't HEAR the other folks on the phone! The sound clarity and quality are just great, retrieving incoming numbers, messages and the mailboxes are easy to use and I admit I never read the manual (my assistant did -- she uses more features than I :). We use the intercom all the time. AND these were much less expensive than the other 3 handset packages I tried. They don't make it across the driveway but the reviews I read said the power increased the clarity, not the range, so we anticipated this (how often do I talk on the phone across the street anyway?)
These phones perform better than I expected after using the competing products and returning them--I wish the extra handsets were less costly or I'd have a few more in the place.

Customer Review: Great system
Summary: 4 Stars

We love having phones where we don't have jacks. Living in a 100+ year-old home provides many limitations, not the least of which is the lack of wiring. With this system, it doesn't matter. We keep the base in the kitchen and the extra phones evenly distributed through the house. The one drawback (the reason for 4 stars) is that the base unit doesn't mount "flush" to a wall--it's made for countertop, and it "sits" against the wall mount, as if it's hovering in the air. If it were mountable flat against the wall and had a way to hang the phone, it would be better for us. If you're putting it on a tabletop, it's not a problem. I love that the stored phone numbers can be put into one phone and then copied to the others. The room monitor is great if you're upstairs at the back of the house and want to check on what the kids are doing downstairs. Every phone has a speaker phone function. I just can't say enough about it. Good system--great price!

Customer Review: OK but there are probably better on the market
Summary: 3 Stars

I spent a good deal of time reseraching telephones and this is the unti that I selected. Having used it for a few months I can say that it is OK but not great. I have a small three bedroom home but one of the phone extensions doesn't work well in one of the rooms. I bought this phone system because the previous system didn't work well in the same room. I was hoping that this Uniden system with the newer 5.8 whatever technology would work well better and it was a disappointment that it doesn't. Another gripe is that the numbers on the keypads have already worn off some of the keys after light use. Finally, although you can transfer phone numbers from one extension to another, the assigned ringtones do not transfer with them. That might sound like small potatoes, but it's very annonying and it seems like an error.

I'm sure there are worse phone systems on the market, and this one is ok, but you might do better if you look at something else.

Customer Review: mixed reviews

speaker phone reception is great.
bad reception when far from base. our old phone had better reception at our workshop. with this phone, there is a lot of static.
you have to go through several steps in order to insert a "1" in front of the caller ID number in order to return the call or store in memory. my old phone gave that option readily.
i still am not able to make a 3way call. i used to be able to do by just pressing flash. doesn't seem to work with this one.
i like that the numbers light up when you dial -- quite important at our age :)
i like that when you press a speed dial number, it shows you the number (which means you really do not have to memorize the speed dial number you assigned to a number).
will i choose this phone over our old phone? well... i wish all their good features were in one phone! it's like the search for the perfect purse! :D

Customer Review: Uniden TRU9485-3 Review
Summary: 2 Stars

I was very happy when I received the phone and read about its features. But this phone doesn't work for me. When I connected it I started to get frustrated because it doesn't work as I expected, specifically the range that it covers. I place the base unit in a central place of the house and I couldn't use the cordless in my bedroom or in the kid's bedroom or outside the house as I use my old cordless system. Before this, I had a 2.4 Ghz Panasonic and it work perfectly every where around the house and outside too and when I bought the Uniden I expected at least the same performance. Finally I had to by another phone, a 5.8 Ghz Panasonic, and it works better than this Uniden, but not better than my old 2.4 Panasonic. Now I'm thinking that the problem is in the frequency that doesn't have good penetration and can't cover a good range, so I'm thinking to buy another 2.4 Ghz Panasonic
